When creating a thread, it is advised that players give their prospective thread partners a bit of information in the subject line, such as the characters name and canon, or a possible typing and Enlightened ability (if this is applicable). These are not required, but will make it easier for any prospective players to thread with you. While not required, we also encourage you to take a look at the most recent AU Planning post.
If you have any setting questions, or want to do some reading before posting a thread, you can find the setting directory here! Happy tagging!THIS CYCLE'S PROMPTS
#1 After the events in Union, the settlement of Refuge has decided to make the Shattering a more public affair. People who were impacted by the tragedies that befell the city, or those who wish to pay respects to a lost family member are encouraged to either send a Litwick off into the caves, or go off to find one. Who knows, you may find something out about yourself--or about the others around you.
#2 The Medical Center in Union is in need of volunteers, and has sent out a call. But it's not because of what you might think. The weather has been surprisingly warm this time of year, and because of it, a number of Pokémon have decided to, um, fix the population discrepancy that the Elite Four's attack has caused. Baby 'mon have overrun the Breeding Center, and many have found their way at the Medical Center for overflow. There are going to be a lot of diapers that need changing...
#3 With the warm weather hinting at a full return, flocks of Pokémon have begun their northern migration back into the Verdant Forest and beyond. Unfortunately, a few of the wild Flying-type breeds are less than respectful of old monuments, and the Lake and Forest Shrine have received a few unwanted guests making a mess. Shooing them off only seems to anger them, and the Shrines are filthy as a result of their visit. Ugh, will these rude Pokémon ever leave?!
#4 After the attack from the Elite Four, help has been filtering in from all parts of the known world. As a result, a number of temporary food carts have opened up in the business district of Union. Workers have to eat, right? This is a perfect time to expand your palette, but be warned, some of the delicacies can be a bit... eclectic, we'll say. Eat at your own risk.
#5 Wildcard! Come up with your own prompt!
Weiss Schnee | RWBY | Ice/Fire Master of Battle
[she knows very little about Refuge, only that the citizens are allies of Union and that they live underground. today, she has the opportunity to witness people participating in the Shattering. and as wary of these Refugees as she is, Weiss wants to participate. for one reason. she lost her mother and wants to pay respects.
for now, she's kind of standing in the back of the group, observing. she sees a Litwick being set loose into the caves and she fidgets. her Snorunt waits patiently beside her, nudging her a little, but Weiss doesn't budge]
[2]
[Weiss thought that taking care of baby Pokémon would be an easy job. she was wrong. so far, she's been tugged and chewed on, cried on, and... well, she doesn't want to think about what else. why had she volunteered to help? she could have been spending her time training her own Pokémon instead of chasing around these babies.
she grunts as she hefts up a baby Bagon that is currently trying to get at her long ponytail]
Oh, no, you don't. [it roars at her... of course, a baby Pokémon roar isn't very scary] That's enough of that. It's time for your feeding. Now, where did I put that bottle?
[5]
[have another scenario you want to try? lay it on me! planning post is here!]
wildcard; 3-flavored
A trainer dressed in all black watches as her Purrloin unleashes some furious swipes honed on one of the largest looking Spearows that they have come across. Though the feline makes short work of the unlucky creature, it may also be attracting the wrath of its friends. The trainer seems unphased by the flock closing in on her Purrloin, but really, four against one? How fair can that be?]
no subject
her snorunt mirrors her annoyance with the flock of Spearow, and they give a quick nod to each other before Weiss is pointing at the bird-type Pokémon] Neve, take those guys out!
[the snorunt chirps and heads for Purrloin and the Spearow]
no subject
Fake Out! [There's a small rumbling noise from the Purloin as it tackles the nearest Spearow, not taking it out completely, but hitting it hard enough to make it flinch.
It's like she's making a perfect opening for the Snorunt.]
no subject
All right! Icy Wind, Neve!
[she doesn't need to tell the Snorunt that. it was already expecting the next move, but it sends out the blast, causing a couple spearow to faint right away. the attack was super effective!]
no subject
Alright, let's finish them off with more Fury Swipes. [She nods to her Purrloin, who seems to be absolutely pumped up in spite of the chilly air around her. There's another pounce as claws are out, ready to make feathers fly!]
no subject
Weiss is not at all bothered by the threatening squawks, and she steps forward so that she can see the other trainer better. she's pleased with herself, but even more happy to have sort of teamed up with a stranger. Weiss doesn't... make friends easily]
Those were some intense Fury Swipes. [she addresses both Purrloin and the trainer, gaze moving from one to the other]
no subject
Thank you. [Though she is grateful for her help, it's almost as if she speaks to the Pokemon rather than her impromptu partner when she continues.] Your Snorunt's ice is comparable.
no subject
okay, so they've complimented each other. this was good! now, how to keep the conversation going?]
Those Spearow have been here since the afternoon. They've been causing quite the commotion, along with the other bird Pokémon. [Weiss gestures back to the shrine] They've made a mess of the Shrine.

SEE WHAT I DID THURR
I came up with the name when I was younger... [Save face, Blake!]
AT LEAST YOU DIDN'T NAME IT ADAM
I like it. [for real!] This is Neve. [and then she looks back up at Blake again] And I'm Weiss.
UHGHGGHGGGGGGGG
Oh. [She looks back at Neve, offering a softened look in spite of herself.] Hi. [Pokemon were so much easier to talk to than people...
Speaking of, she probably should have given her name about five minutes ago.]
Blake.

Ah, here it is. [ He deftly wrestles the bottle from a Magby attempting to make off with it and holds it out for Weiss to take. ] Do you need me to hold her for you?
no subject
I think I've got her... [but the Bagon struggles in her arms. she tries to reach for the bottle, but that's when the Bagon slips a bit, and she has to use both arms to hold her. Weiss is loath to admit defeat, but she really can't do this alone] On second thought, maybe I could use a little help.

How did you get her to calm down so quickly?
no subject
It helps that she seems to have a quiet nature, but I admit that some of it is probably this. [ He takes out a little pouch and shows it to Weiss; from it emits a sweet and spicy scent. He puts it back, after a moment. ] Normally I'd burn it as incense, but it works well enough just in a powder. It makes Pokemon a bit calmer.
Holding them in a way that makes it clear they can't get to you also helps. So it's a combination of factors, I'm afraid.
[ He was holding the Bagon in a certain way, after all, in more of a clamping grip than anything. ]
no subject
You sound like you've been around baby Pokémon a lot.
no subject
[ His voice sounds a bit wry. ] Now, getting them to take medicine, or getting them to hold still for treating serious injuries - such a thing is a much rougher prospect. It's for that purpose that I learned how to hold Pokemon of all kinds. [ It's hard enough for baby Pokemon. Imagine trying to hold down an adult. ]

[ A baby Aipom is climbing up into his hair while he's speaking; he just doesn't seem to mind at all. It perches with pride on his head. It's a comical sight. ]

I see. I suppose I still have a lot to learn. [her eyes fall on the Bagon again. she looks so happy and serene]
