The Ice-Type's eyes widened, and then he glared at her. "Vanil!" he said, voice firm.
Aila grimaced. "Come on, she's taking care of it! There's no reason why I should stick around. It'd probably be just embarrassing for both of us."
"Vanillite!""
"But I already thanked her-!"

Aila grew silent, and she just continued to stare at him for a few moments. Finally, she let out a frustrated sigh. "Fine!" she said, before leaning her head on her arm.
If Vanillite wanted her to stick around to thank this girl properly, it looked like Aila didn't really have any choice.
