The Timeline Meme!

We’ve been chronicling the adventures of Union for the past few years now, but what about everyone’s childhoods? What about the bright futures they’re hoping to obtain, or the desperation they’ll feel if they fail? This is a place to have fun imagining what would happen if characters met at different periods in their lives!
Play around with any of the following:
1) Ten Years Ago…: Maybe your character is a child dreaming of their own Pokémon adventure. Maybe they’re just embarking on their career. How did everything begin? Play around with it! (Remember, though: Union thought they were the only civilization out there…)
2) Ten Years Later - Good End: The world has been saved, and all the cities in the world are friends! What might it look like? Imagine that here!
3) Ten Years Later - Bad End: …or perhaps the Elite Four succeed in “punishing” mankind. Perhaps the gods forgive humanity, but Gigas causes global warming. Perhaps Mewtwo changes his mind. Whatever catastrophe has befallen the world, it’s time for SURVIVAL HORROR WITH POKEMON. Good luck.
4) Bonus: Full AU: What if things went differently at any point in the game? Perhaps Union has become a colony of Gigas, or Reshiram’s rampage wasn’t stopped. Maybe Union refused to aid Sanctuary because, dear lord, have you seen what they do to people in Sanctuary. Change one thing, and you’ll change everything!
Ken Ichijouji | Sanctuary
...
[ There is a baby sitting in the corner of the library next to his stroller while his mother fawns over his older brother a few paces away - books from the Mage stacks, already, Osamu, at your age? Can you read them? Show Mama!. He looks around. He sees his mom. He tries to crawl towards his mom. He falls. His eyes fill with tears and he hiccups. He...he...
He's all alooooone. And about to cry in the library. The LIBRARY! What a terrible Sanctuary citizen. ]
[ 2 ]
Good evening.
[ Whether you're in Sanctuary or Union, you've just opened the door to a young man in a City Guard uniform. He shows you his identification on his Warp Band. ] Ken Ichijouji, City Guard. Do you have time to answer some questions?
[ ...Something is moving just beneath his collar. ]
Waver Velvet | Union (and on an Alt Account)
Idiots seriously never learn, [someone huffed under his breath in the Library, his voice barely sounding down the rows and rows of books as he irritably put a stack that had been thrown on the floor away. He was in the geographical reference section, double checking the maps-- why in the hills were the fiction books piled up here?
His hair was pulled back into a ponytail that was only tidy because his hair was straight as rain. His shoes and ranger's jacket were dusty, his glasses needed a good cleaning, and it was clear that this was his first time breezing back into the city after several weeks.
...It was also clear that he hadn't made any stops since returning, but that was a pesky worry for people who were less singularly focused on making sure the maps were absolutely correct.]
Wildcard
[ooc: make up a prompt if you don't see anything that you like]

dgfghjkl
Sinbad! [he hissed,] You're the one who flunked the library organization lecture, aren't you?
Re: dgfghjkl
You're getting faster.
no subject
[Huffing irritably now, he dropped the book he carried to his side and cast Sinbad a tired look.]
You never answered my question either. You know I can't let that stand.
no subject
[He shrugs]
But I would've passed if I had been there.
no subject
[He roughly shoved the stack of books towards Sinbad-- better grab them unless you want them to fall!]
How about you put these away and show me, if you're so confident. If you can't, I'll personally give you the lecture right here and now.
[...Not even a day back in Union, and he was already making threats. Whether they were just bluster or not remained to be seen.]
no subject
Really? You're serious? Fine. I'll show you.
[Sinbad starts to put them away, he does seem to know it, but he constantly has to stop and double check himself]
no subject
After all, Sinbad won't learn if he doesn't do it on his own.]
no subject
Sinbad won't admit, but he did appreciate the little hints when he falters]
There. Told you I can do it.
no subject
[Waver sighed, reaching up a hand to loosen his ponytail now that he was back in civilization. Practicality won out at every turn, but he was glad to have a chance to relax some.]
Maybe you're not as hopeless as I thought.
[And to that he smiled, a sly look that dared Sinbad to come up with a better quip.]
no subject
[He shot back, though his smirk is teasing]
You do look better with your hair down.
no subject
And you know I'm not those girls you sway so easily with words.
no subject
I know, I know.
Badr's egg hatched, that's why I missed the exam.
Haruka Tenoh | Union
[ Traffic has stopped on this road.
It's not for a jam - the roads aren't too congested. It's not for an accident - in fact, people seem to be gathering on the sidewalks just fine, and they all look excited, rather than upset. It's not for a parade, despite the general oohs and aahs going up among the crowds.
No, there just happens to be a young person riding a Rhyhorn down the street - bareback - and it is the most beautiful sight Union has seen in years. Child and Rhyhorn move in unison. The air around them stills, fades, softens. The Rhyhorn's powerful body is restrained by the presence of the human on its back, yet there's a quirk to the human's lips that lets everybody know they might start running whenever they please.
Then someone points out: that boy has his eyes closed! He's steering that dangerous, majestic animal without even looking!
And the whole crowd, as one, goes "ooooohhhhhhhhh." ]
[ 2 ]
[ Haruka is loitering outside this jewelry store with a book, leaning against her latest Rhyhorn: the streets may be a mix of small, economically-friendly cars, Rotomcycles, and Pokémon by now, but nothing bests a classic in her eyes. She flips the pages without really reading them, and checks the front window when she reaches the end of each chapter.
She's totally not waiting for a special order to be done. That's silly. What could possibly be important enough for Haruka Tenoh to waste her valuable time wanting to pick it up as soon as possible??? ]
1
At least she looks before crossing the street. And then freezes, blinking. She doesn't even flinch when the Ralts bumps into her.
So that's who everybody was looking at...]
no subject
This is it. This is what she's been looking for all her life. She takes a deep breath in. The crowd holds its breath. She lets her breath out. The crowd sighs.
She sits up straighter - then hunches forward. And the Rhyhorn
begins to run. ]
no subject
Then again, there's something fascinating about watching your facial expressions and your body language. (the Rhyhorn is secondary, really.)]
no subject
Something prickles on the back of Haruka's neck - someone's eyes catch her instincts' attention - and her eyes jostle open. She turns to look.
Her seat begins to rise off the Rhyhorn's back. ]
no subject
And then suddenly she's aware of the crowd and the noise and how her Ralts is pushing her way past Michiru to glare suspiciously at this human who's doing the weirdest things to Trainer's emotions.] Ra!
no subject
If she, or something else, doesn't catch herself soon - she might fall off!! ]
no subject
Ralts looks at Trainer in surprise - and isn't doing a thing to help out, psychically or otherwise.]
no subject
tucks her body
and somersaults to the ground, coming out in a crouch as the Rhyhorn works its way to a stop and then stomps back over. Trainer! Trainer!!!
The crowd goes wild. Haruka shrugs. She's looking for the person that had distracted her. ]
no subject
Gripping her violin case more tightly, she hesitates a moment before nudging the Ralts and then stepping forward to cross the street.] Let's go.
[maybe she doesn't care for the crowd]
no subject
She might keep her own eyes peeled for the rest of the day, as she's out and about in town. Just in case.
While passing this art gallery, for example. ]
no subject
...The Ralts pointedly yawns, even as she carefully holds onto the violin case.]
no subject
And yet her mouth is opening. ] You don't look like you ride.
[ Because you were totally checking out the Rhyhorn, right? A tableau like that, you had to be. It's magnificent. ]
no subject
Here's a small smile, despite whatever she's feeling right now.] Rhyhorn? I can't say I've ever tried.
[all you're getting from Ralts is a deeply suspicious look]
no subject
[ Why is she even talking to this person. She's already admitted that she doesn't ride Rhyhorn - why is Haruka belaboring the point?
She's also belaboring the point in a somewhat derogatory way, but that's not her problem. Haruka shrugs. Naturally, she is self-confident enough to not mind if she gets dusty. And naturally, she has great leg muscles. ] Better stick to looking at pictures.
[ Even she doesn't know why she's dancing around asking what the deal was earlier. ]
no subject
Michiru turns around completely, finger tapping at her chin as she seems to look you over.]
It is pretty easy to make assumptions, isn't it? [even if it looks like you like to break a few of those yourself]
no subject
Weird kid. But she'd been watching earlier, so let's see. ] Did you need something?
no subject
Now? [because you're the one who started talking to her] Or earlier?
no subject
[ And yet you were staring. So what's with that, huh? Or, really, what made your eyes stand out when nobody else's did? ]
no subject
You were attracting a lot of attention. [she's either making an observation or that's her excuse for staring]
no subject
[ Haruka shrugs. ] There's a race in a few weeks. Check that out if you want to see something really impressive.
[ She'll....be in the amateur one, and she doesn't just mean "come see her". Rhyhorn racing is, well. It's Rhyhorn racing. She'd rather talk about it than anything else in the world!
Like asking this girl for her name. ]
no subject
Here's a quiet giggle though.]
Like falling off Rhyhorn?
[actually, that landing was pretty impressive in and of itself]
no subject
no subject
[whatever that means - even as she sounds particularly innocent]
no subject
[ But easier for her to notice you staring at her during the race. She is taking no chances. ]
