Gil honestly doesn't see eye-to-eye with Lucca on a lot of things. The morality of using your inventions for harm being the most fundamental difference. Gil would say that he doesn't care about how his inventions are used at all, and that morality interferes with the PURITY OF SCIENCE. Which is a load of hooey, but he certainly doesn't worry about it as much as Lucca does.

But on the other hand she's basically the only person who can follow his conversations other than Banzu, and she's way cuter than Banzu is. Despite any friction between them, those two points alone will keep him coming back to her.
