With the Sanctuary event winding down and the opening of several new cities since the last one and introduction of many new players, I will be conducting another Ask Me Anything! As before, this is generally intended to be focused on the Brave New World setting. Questions that would spoil the plot will not be answered, but otherwise, go nuts! Questions about design and inspiration for setting stuff are also welcome! I will be running this for the whole week so there will be plenty of time to ask what you need!

This is not restricted to active players in the game either, anyone who is interested is welcome to ask!

So what kind of clothing/music/food might we find in Sanctuary? What's their religious belief?

Sanctuary has some Gigan influence with more modern attire, but traditionally they wear robes as a sign of mages and more medieval-esque work attire for the non-mages. Their religion is centered around a Holy Seer who foresaw the destruction and led them to safety.

Food we've talked about a bit and I totally missed that mention, sorry. British and Northern European in general, blood sausage, blood pudding, all sorts of bland meat dishes, that kind of thing.

Using the Engineer perk to cook type-enhanced food: would this work and how?

It would probably fall under consumable items which we're currently stating are at a 10 per Engineering use. You'd need to propose it but it should be doable.

We'll be looking to expand the map, and there are still some areas yet to be explored on the current map.

HELLO So lets talk about the Enhanced.

Given how experimental the Enhanced are, how does their evolutions work? Do they mirror your standard Enlightened evolutions or are things more complicated? Were the Enhanced in the event full evolved?

Can we learn more about the facilities that created the enhanced? Or is all of that off limits?

Evolutions typically mirror standard Evolutions. The Enhanced in the event were likely fully evolved.

Learning more about the facilities can be done, but will have to be done in-game.

What kind of place is the Union based facility? Is it like a doctors office with housing? How big is it? WHat kind of staff does it have?

Or is that something that needs to be player-plotted as well?

The facility is generally fairly benign, it's a new structure on the outskirts of the city, so it's a reasonably large complex with its own courtyard. A lot of the facility is based around manufacturing the drugs needed to keep their psychosis in check and therapy facilities and housing facilities for the inhabitants. It's about the size of a larger clinic with attached housing facilities.

Can someone be enhanced into a shifter? And, if so, would they still be restricted to that Pokémon typing?

Shifters are always restricted to the typing of the Pokemon they are. Currently Enhanced or Homunculi cannot be shifters, but I'll check and see if we want to allow it.

Someone mentioned this on plurk the other day and it got me curious: is it possible to take various pollens and spores from grass/poison type pokemon without hurting them and using them as seasonings in various food dishes?

Yes, definitely possible. Depends on how cooperative they are though.

What sorts of plant-life is found around the Archipelago? Is it more tropical?

The islands, including the volcanic one. what's the weather like in the winter?

Archipelago generally trends more tropical, think Philippines and Pacific Islands for temperature and vegetation.

Sanctuary residents officially call themselves "citizens of Sanctuary", but people will call them Sancts for short.

Bonus answer!

Refuge people called themselves Refugees, but given the actual practical application of the term in the new world they find themselves in, they are currently debating a new title. Thus far nothing's really taken.

Referencing a house means he is a noble. Referencing an Order is his rank within the Academy of Magi.

Also, are there any particular fields of magic/types that each Order focus on?

There are quite a few Orders, we are intentionally not defining them as that would restrict the ability of players to create them. They typically deal in different fields of magical study or have varying focuses for their art (battle magic, architectural magic, what have you)

Legends and stories from Sanctuary! What are their views on "The Gods"?

The gods were generally seen as a major destructive force, akin to a natural disaster. The people of Sanctuary hold that the Seer lead them to safety where they weathered out the wrath of the gods and from there they were able to rebuild.
