CHARACTER NAME: Mustrum Ridcully
ABOUT: Fire/Grass Child of Knowledge Unbound from Sanctuary. Ridcully is an old man (in his 70s!) who worked at a university of magic during the Gigan occupation. Through a combination of clever politics, bald face lying, threats, and dumb luck, Ridcully was able to keep his department running more or less smoothly throughout the occupation.

He is also an extremely irritating person, especially for elderly magi who just want to enjoy their tenure in peace. Ridcully makes this difficult by trying to drag people on impromptu 5am jogging trips, talking about fly fishing, bragging about hunting trophies, practicing with his crossbow indoors, and generally being very active and athletic despite his age.

SO he was sent to Union, ostensibly to look after the new department of magic at the University of Union, but REALLY just to get him out of everyone's hair back in Sanctuary.
LOOKING FOR: Lazy people Ridcully can make miserable. Fellow Mages he can loudly annoy. Fellow hunting or fishing enthusiasts he can talk shop with. Bleeding hearts that can be shocked and horrified by his hunting trophies. Keen students to avoid so they don't cut into his fly fishing time with annoying questions. Clever bastard politicians that can make him nervous...

CURRENT OR FUTURE PLOTS: Setting up the Department of Magical Studies in Union.

A fighting type would be reasonably IC and I shall definitely consider this.

Super late to chiming in here, but Raine had been a top student at the university when she graduated early a year or so ago (though she would have tried not to flaunt it due to not exactly being a traditional magus, and that's been mostly a secret, I think? And she would have been working as a tutor/secretary as well up until she left for Union.) So there could be something in that.

Ridcully does his best to avoid students tbh, but she might have been on his radar if she was as great as that, or more likely if she had worked in some kind of administrative position.

haha, him having an aversion to her for that reason works as well! I just like working out general awareness is all :) She hangs out mostly in the Union library these days as an assistant and took her brother to finish his schooling in Union which is probably another oddity.

CHARACTER NAME: Umi Sonoda
ABOUT: Umi is a Water/Normal (Eventuall Water/Fighting) Calderan native Earthkin who is coming to Union to help with restoration and to check on a certain friend of hers. She'll end up sticking around for whatever reason. She is a very serious minded girl who is very conscious of manners, modesty and working hard. She comes from a pretty old fashioned family that's big on tradition and image and so she takes those sorts of things very seriously.

However, that doesn't mean she's not a complete spaz. She's also extremely easy to fluster AND is actually a very kind and caring friend.

She's also very talent and a bunch of random stuff like Traditional Calderan dance, archery, calligraphy, and singing. Check out her excellent voice yo.

LOOKING FOR: CR of any kinds! People for her to get into arguments with, people to be friends with her, people to get her to lighten the fuck up. Also someone needs to get her into singing because she's otherwise pretty shy about it.

CURRENT OR FUTURE PLOTS: I have nothing really concrete set up for her, other than I would like for her to consciously decide to stay in Union or become fond of the city.

CHARACTER NAME: Excellen Browning
ABOUT: Excellen is a Calderan citizen on loan to Union. While she still works with the Steel Battalion, she also assists Union's guard in protecting the peace around the city. She's also a freelance Engineer and resident weirdo, taking a certain pride in picking on and adhering herself to anyone and everyone she might make slightly uncomfortable--or that she finds interesting.

As a teenager, she (along with Kyosuke) was caught up in an attack outside of Caldera by Gigan forces, and was severely wounded. Taken to Sanctuary for treatment, her body was reconstructed through high-level magic and experimentation, making her part homunculi as a result. She has little to no memory of this procedure. It took a little over a year for her to recover, the time she spent living within the mage city.
LOOKING FOR: People for Excellen to "befriend," fellow weirdos, people she may have known from Caldera or Sanctuary, Engineer pals. I'm not really picky.
CURRENT OR FUTURE PLOTS: Eventually I'd like to delve a bit more into her past, but I don't really have that slotted anytime soon ~~or until we get a Lemon~~.

ABOUT: Fighting/Fire/Flying God of War. Born to clan of hyper badass hunter/warriors called the Fanalis. Kidnapped by Gigan slavers while wee. Raised as a Servitor working for a horrible person. Was rescued by a mysteriously powerful Alakazam and teleported to Union for unclear reasons. Learning how to not be a Servitor/Slave while beating the shit out of anyone who tries to take her back. She works for the Rangers, currently.
LOOKING FOR: I would love (love) it if someone took some other hyper badass strong person and AUd them to also be a Fanalis. Morgiana never really got to learn much of anything about her people, so meeting some others who might know more or might be just as ignorant as her would be a cool thing. ALSO if you wanted to just, like, app Marsur or Mu Alexius, that would be cool too.

CHARACTER NAME: Magnolia
ABOUT: Psychic/Dark homunculus who spent about three horrible years in Sanctuary before his master/creator said "you know what you guys are jerks we're going now", packed up and left and settled in some dinky settlement where he learned to be an apprentice apothecary. Then his master disappeared. Magnolia is now intent on finding him and eventually drifted into Union after traveling all around.

Also, he's well learned on passing for human in every way possible, so he's going to keep his homunculus status a total secret for as long as he can. (He's built from the ground up. No living base here!)
LOOKING FOR: People to coo over Pokemon with him and people he can accompany on reckless trips into the wilderness. Even with his mercurial personality he still makes a decent support class, and he's guaranteed to take battle seriously.
CURRENT OR FUTURE PLOTS: He needs to actually make friends with people on more than a superficial 'they might be useful' level. The road to actually giving a shit about people and taking on responsibility is a hardy one and he needs MANY CR to accomplish that.
ADDITIONAL INFO OR COMMENTS: As a homunculus, his sensitivity to pain is garbage, his ability to sense temperature is shit, and his hearing is basically nonexistent (though he compensates with psychic power). So if he gets set on fire and doesn't notice or react if nobody tells him, NOW YOU KNOW.
He's great at mixing up natural medicines and herbal remedies both out in the field and back at Union. As a bonus, they tend to be less awful-tasting than the usual ones.
Yes, he does wear that monocle that his PB is wearing.

CHARACTER NAME: Sophia Nate
ABOUT: An adult grass-type Enlightened currently suffering from amnesia, Sophia was found at the forest shrine the first day of Salvation and brought back to Union. She's lived here ever since with her overprotective Honedge, Ymir, and got a crash course in both world vs dragon cultist politics AND her powers when the Elite Four visited in January. She's not yet aware she is technically from Sanctuary, and has no idea about that 29 something years of life that she's forgotten.

All in all, a very nice if quiet, compassionate lady, who's beginning to display some frighteningly over-pacifistic tendancies. She's presently working with Waver as support to Yuuna's ranger group, and likely to overhaul the quartermasters' inventory, in addition to lending a hand around the city. She's also an engineer, though this is slow to emerge as well.

LOOKING FOR: All the CR! She's been steadily making friends, but less trusting CR is welcome too.
CURRENT OR FUTURE PLOTS: She'll be slowly regaining memories of her time as a servitor of Gigas, though where that goes depends on RP. She's likely to start looking into finding her family as she learns she's a Child of Knowledge Unbound, so there's that to look forward to in future..along with potentially terrib-- uh, interesting things to learn about fallen Mage houses. Cough cough.

CHARACTER NAME: Gwendolyn

ABOUT: She's a Valkyrie, hailing from Citadel. Younger sister to the recently promoted Elder of the Ragnanival tribe, she's been sent to Union to join her fellow Citadel natives and represent the Valkyries of her tribe - so if you're from her part of the world, you'll certainly have heard of her clan! She wants very much to earn the approval of her clan/father/sister, and show herself to be a capable Valkyrie. A Child of the Howling Gale, she fought during in the recent Kyurem troubles and stuck her spear in the dragon, but got a broken arm for her part. Once she recovers, she'll start training intensely, and will likely hit her first evolution (gaining small hip-wings similar to those in her actual canon).

LOOKING FOR: Positive and negative CR! Maybe some ranger buddies! SPARRING PARTNERS. Someone needs to get stronger to better take on threats like Kyurem! but most especially friends.
CURRENT OR FUTURE PLOTS: She'll be looking to seek approval from Union to establish Valkyrie-style patrols along the forest borders, and beyond, between external signal towers. Maybe with a waystation set up between. She's also the only remaining member of her Valkyrie wing after the others died in the attack, so she's bearing that burden on top of representing Citadel and her tribe to the best of her abilities.

ADDITIONAL INFO OR COMMENTS:
In Odin Sphere, you can plant seeds that grow sheep. (see icon) That you can then attack twice to turn into lamb chops. Which can be eaten as is, or turned in at fancy pooka restaurants for super food.

i think cr with gwendolyn might be interesting since magnolia has been traveling for like 15 years with no real attachments and will be curious about why the approval of people who are so far away matter to gwendolyn so much

he can also serve as a useful ranger buddy by treating injuries and getting panicking rescuees to chill the fuck out, things like that. don't be surprised if he gets scatterbrained or wanders off to pick herbs when nothing is happening though (or do, and scold him for it, etc)

She'd have a hard time ever imagining wandering solo for so long, being a Valkyrie and part of that sisterhood dynamic is what she's always known prior to Union. But she'd certainly welcome working with interested parties - though she'd be fine to scold if he wasn't pulling his weight. ;D

CHARACTER NAME: Waver Velvet
ABOUT: 20 year old Psychic-typed Magus from Sanctuary. He's smart, but of poor lineage and couldn't afford to go to the Academy in his home town, so he took to slipping into the libraries in order to teach himself. He jumped on to the first train into Union and has been in the city since last summer, slowly exploring the world. He's something of a brat-- but, he recently joined the Rangers! Progress is being made with this kid!
LOOKING FOR: Friends, rivals, frenemies of all sorts. Waver is the sort of person who starts an argument before starting a friendly conversation, and he's liable to shoot his mouth without much forethought regardless of the consequences. Anything that comes his way, frankly, would be hilarious.
CURRENT OR FUTURE PLOTS: The only plot I have going for him is his slow growth into whatever sort of man this Alternate Universe transforms him into. His canon-self is very jaded as an adult, and I'm hoping that he can 'grow up' with a little more idealism in his life.

GOOD START TO A RELATIONSHIP.

To be honest? Half of Waver's CR started because he couldn't Shut Up. It's hilarious, because he will argue over the stupidest crap!

That said-- how much around town was your kid in Sanctuary? Waver's keeping an eye on everyone he knows that comes from that town, whether they realize it or not. It's just a practicality thing-- he's a Magus with the Analyst skill and a very healthy dose of Paranoia.

magnolia's actually like 43, so i think waver might be too young to recognise him, since he was only there for three years of his life (and those were before the gigan occupation). magnolia will definitely be pretty knowledgeable about sanctuary and magus though (though his info is dated, it's been like 40 years), so waver will be able to connect the dots based on that

CHARACTER NAME: Kon Shinonome
ABOUT: 18 year old Dark/Ghost enlightened who recently wandered in from Citadel. He's fresh in Union in the aftermath of Dat Dragon, and is an Engineer....as well as troll, part-time chef, and general delinquent who loves to get involved in a good fight.
LOOKING FOR: Friends. Frenemies. Troll-targets. People to fight with. Kon is a pretty versatile guy from an obscure canon, but I think he's the sort who could do well in this game if I can get the right mix of things going.
CURRENT OR FUTURE PLOTS: He has a Ghost Problem. That is, he's got some psychometric problems associated with his Ghost-typing that he doesn't have full control over. Thanks, near death experience. I'd like for someone somewhere along the line to help him with that little problem, because it's an annoyance.

He also has a Litwick from Gods know where. He's trying to find where the little guy comes from, so that might be a fun mini plot.

CHARACTER NAME: Raine Sage
ABOUT: 19 year old fairy-typed mage analyst from Sanctuary, currently living in Union (with her npc younger brother attending school) and working part-time as a library assistant. A struggling heiress to a somewhat diminished line (on one side, anyway), living in Union allows her to mostly dodge any issues that are waiting back at home, while at the same time taking on new responsibilities.
LOOKING FOR: Pretty open for CR! She has a tendency to keep a lot to herself, so she's harder to get to know, but her scholarly nature/curiosity moments can be engaging if the right ping comes along. People that might catch her off guard, maybe? She needs a little help in the light-hearted department when it's not about ruins.
CURRENT OR FUTURE PLOTS: At some point she still has a Salvation present map to explore, probably when most of the chaos dies down. She likes gathering data on history, ruins, and Pokemon and backing it up with her own observation, if she can, and organizing it for the library helps. Her interests are varied so it's been difficult for her to settle down into one committed role for her future or to find one that suits her needs (let alone her responsibilities toward her brother and things that she's been avoiding.) so right now it's been mostly handling her current living situation and trying to maintain her privacy (as much as I enjoy dropping little crumbs here and there and finding moments to exploit that).
ADDITIONAL INFO OR COMMENTS: She's been temporarily displaced from her apartment due to the recent disaster, and is throwing a lot of her energy to helping the recovery effort. So I hope I can ease back in with that catching up to her at some point (I'm on hiatus for a couple of weeks). Otherwise she's usually not too far from the library to assist, unless she's visiting an area to research on her own time (and let her Pokemon enjoy the outdoors and train if needed).
