When creating a thread, it is advised that players give their prospective thread partners a bit of information in the subject line, such as the characters name and canon, or a possible typing and Enlightened ability (if this is applicable). These are not required, but will make it easier for any prospective players to thread with you. While not required, we also encourage you to take a look at the most recent AU Planning post.
THIS CYCLE'S PROMPTS
#1 A naughty Castform is following people around and causing rain wherever they walk. Talk about spring showers!
#2 The Flower Grove is well-known for its spring blossoms. Your character has gone to visit, only to discover Gloom have moved in to enjoy the pleasant fragrance! And now the pleasant fragrance...isn't.
#3 This baby Pidgey has fallen out of its nest!!! What do you do? Do you get help? It's squawking and flapping like nobody's business. Might be hard to hang onto without somebody else around to spot you...
#4 Glacier is excited for the Big Spring Thaw! They will tell this to anyone who comes to see them at Citadel, and will even lead expeditions up to the Obsidian Flats to show off the lovely warm weather......while it's still snowing.
#5 Union is still repairing itself after Kyurem's attack. Construction workers are needed at this site. Humans and Pokémon are both welcome, but the supervisor is a Machoke. Communication could get tricky.
#6 Wildcard! Come up with your own prompt!
If you have any setting questions, or want to do some reading before posting a thread, you can find the setting directory here! Happy tagging!

There's something to be said for being able to move faster than the blink of an eye. For one thing, moving through a world slower than molasses gave one a chance to see things in a whole different way. Little things that would normally pass by unnoticed, little events that come and go so fast any normal person could hardly say they happened at all.
Take for instance, a tiny baby Pidgey venturing too close to the edge of its nest. Imagine each panicked flutter of wings taking entire seconds to pass, every feather drifting to the ground over the course of what must be hours. Who wouldn't step in and do something about that if they could?
The bird Pokemon makes it about halfway between its roost and the hard ground, when a powerful gust of wind rushes past, following a blur of motion that resolves several yards away into a young man dressed in Gigan clothing, holding the frightened creature in his arms.
"Hey, little guy, that was a close one. You oka-- ow! Hey- okay- pfft-- ow!" And what follows right after the rescue is a little less impressive as this speedster is now trying to juggle an angry, fluttering, pecking Pidgey in his hands.
Little help, maybe?

Cold is bad. Barry had figured it might be a problem as Glacier is so far removed from the hot climate of his home city but this? This sucks. Apparently, the accident that had given him these powers and Typings had stuck him with a few extra drawbacks as well, because the cold is hitting him hard.
There's a weird humming noise filling the air around him, and anybody who looks his way will see the odd sight of a vaguely human-looking blur in the air. Features rendered indistinct and patches of snow melting away around his feet by the sheer energy given off by this crazy vibration.
He's shivering, you see. At superspeed.

It's lunchtime back in Union, and there's a bit of a crowd forming around one of the many restaurants of the city. People stop and stare through the window and inside, terrified waitstaff hover around the entrance to the kitchen waiting their turn to bring out the next meal or combo to this particular patron.
Barry's sitting at one of the tables, beside a growing stack of plates, bowls, wrappers, everything. He's just polishing off his most recent victim and barely pauses a moment to have a gulp from the mega-sized cup beside him before turning and looking at the nearest table.
"Have you tried this?" He points to the plate that, a few moments ago, had held some Calderan dish or another. "You gotta try this one. It is so good."
6b.
[The Warp Band video comes up, and the newcomer on the other end blinks once and then grins at finally getting the device to work properly, turning his wrist over a few times and watching the video orient itself.]
Cool. [A few more turns and he focuses his attention on the video itself, waving with his free arm.] Hey, everyone. I'm Barry Allen and, um, I just got into town. So, um... yeah, full disclosure I'm from Gigas but, hey, it's cool. I'm just a guy, I'm not around to cause... any... trouble.
[A wince. Quit while you're ahead, Barry.]
Actually... I've kinda got this problem. I was hoping somebody here might know something about it.

And Gigan clothes. Yamamoto's Union born and bred so he heard a lot of things about Union. But he's not going to let that stop him making friends. Especially friends who help baby pokemon (and can't defend themselves against them).
He walks over to the Gigan man and lifts his hands for the Pidgey. "He's just scared," he told Barry. "Hey little guy," he coos at the Pidgey. "The nice man here didn't mean to scare you."
no subject
Whatever the cause is, he's doing his best to not drop the Pidgey and also not lose any fingers. So, he has no problem with handing off the bird Pokemon as soon as Yamamoto reaches for it.
"Yeah, I think I could use a little. Thanks." Yeesh, that beak smarts! "I really don't get a whole lot of chances to deal with Pokemon."
no subject
And Yamamoto had always been good at calming down Pokemon. "Is it because you're Gigan? That you didn't get to interact with Pokemon that much?"
He assumed that's where the man's super speed came from as well.
"I'm Takeshi Yamamoto," he greeted. "This is Kintoki," he gestured with his head towards his Honedge. "What brings you to Union?"
no subject
Pokemon are weird.
He blinked a bit when Yamamoto pegged him as a Gigan so easily and gave a little laugh.
"Ha. That obvious, huh? Barry Allen." He turned to the Honedge and gave it a nod and a wave. "Actually, I came here looking for some help."
no subject
"Well, your clothes do make it kinda obvious." Yamamoto pointed out cheerfully. He looked up, wondering where the pidgey's nest was.
"What kind of help do you need?"
6b
What's the problem? I can't guarantee I'd be able to help, but I can at least lend a listening ear.
no subject
[Much better than what the worst case could have been, he'll happily take it. But okay, down to what he came here to talk about.]
Well... I'm not really sure exactly what happened, but I was down in one of our research facilities back home and I got caught in an accident. Ended up in a coma for awhile and when I woke up, I suddenly had... powers? Like the people from here have.
no subject
Kind of like an Enlightened awakening except not quite, huh? Think it might've happened with the accident?

"It's like you came out of nowhere," she notes, before holding out her hands cupped together. "Here, let me see. I like to think I'm rather good with Pokemon."
no subject
"Well, I just happened to be aro-oooww-ow!" He jerks one hand back after a particular nasty bite and shaking his fingers with a wince. And seeing Minami hold out her hands, he's all too happy to hand over the Pokemon to somebody who knows what she's doing. And it's pretty clear that, trying his best or not, he doesn't really know how to handle such a young Pokemon properly. "That would be great. Thanks."
With the Pidgey out of his hands, he takes the chance to brush some feathers from his jacket.
"I don't think they like me very much."
no subject
The Pidgey... seems to calm down, actually, chirping lightly, and certainly not trying to peck her fingers off like with the man. She tilts her head to one side, gazing at it a little longer, listening to its chirps, before her eyes drift up, towards the nest it assuredly fell from.
"Ah! That's it, is it? Well, we'd better get you back before your Mama is back, hm?"
The Pidgey chirps happily, and she gives it a laugh before looking at the man and beaming. "I have a bit of an affinity for working with Pokemon, so I may be cheating a little bit. It's a very good thing you were there to catch him, sir."
no subject
When he notices the way the Pidgey immediately calms as soon as Minami has it, he slows to a stop watching the interaction between the two. She isn't wrong about being good with Pokemon, but there's something else?
"Hm? Oh. Yeah, just lucky, I guess. Hey." He stops for a second, thinking before pointing (carefully) at the Pidgey. "Sorry if this is a dumb question but are you talking with that Pokemon?"
no subject
She blinks as he points at the Pidgey, and gives a small laugh. She hasn't really shown much reaction to his attire, either, for that matter. "That's not a dumb question at all. I guess I do have... something of an affinity for that. I'm usually partial to and best with Water types, personally, but..." She looks back down at the bird. "All Pokemon are important, and if I can help one, then..."

[ There's a nudge from Barry's right, at knee level, tusk knocking gently before the pokémon backs up a bit to eye the stranger curiously. He's not likely used to seeing pokémon wandering a city as though they were equal citizens, never mind a Fraxure at that.
After a moment, those jaws part, and a paw motions expectantly. Don't go showing off food (or empty plates) like that and not share with the rest of us. ]
no subject
Not to say it's a problem, or that he's particularly focused on that when the next part of his lunch arrives. He's about to dig in when he feels the bump on his leg and looks down to see a... Fraxure, isn't it, staring up at him.]
Um. [He blinks and looks up around the restaurant once before settling back on the Pokemon and watching its motions.] ... What? You're hungry? You want this?
no subject
You WERE the one saying people should try the Calderan dish, right? So sharing's only fair! ]
no subject
Uh... okay. Sure.
[Reaching over, he grabs another empty plate from his table and splits the dish in half and leans over, holding it out to the dragon.]
Here.
no subject
And all but downed in a single gulp as the contents of the plate are tipped between waiting jaws. (Some manners just can't be taught, apparently.) ]
