TEST DRIVE MEME: APRIL + MAY EDITION

Welcome to bravenewworld's test drive meme! This post is designed to help players test out their characters within the setting, as well as give them an opportunity to collect samples for their future application. The prompts below are all optional, and can be used to get a feel for the game, but we encourage players to get creative and use this post however best suits their needs. Players are welcome to use either prose or brackets for their threads.

When creating a thread, it is advised that players give their prospective thread partners a bit of information in the subject line, such as the characters name and canon, or a possible typing and Enlightened ability (if this is applicable). These are not required, but will make it easier for any prospective players to thread with you. While not required, we also encourage you to take a look at the most recent AU Planning post.

THIS CYCLE'S PROMPTS
#1 A naughty Castform is following people around and causing rain wherever they walk. Talk about spring showers!

#2 The Flower Grove is well-known for its spring blossoms. Your character has gone to visit, only to discover Gloom have moved in to enjoy the pleasant fragrance! And now the pleasant fragrance...isn't.

#3 This baby Pidgey has fallen out of its nest!!! What do you do? Do you get help? It's squawking and flapping like nobody's business. Might be hard to hang onto without somebody else around to spot you...

#4 Glacier is excited for the Big Spring Thaw! They will tell this to anyone who comes to see them at Citadel, and will even lead expeditions up to the Obsidian Flats to show off the lovely warm weather......while it's still snowing.

#5 Union is still repairing itself after Kyurem's attack. Construction workers are needed at this site. Humans and Pokémon are both welcome, but the supervisor is a Machoke. Communication could get tricky.

... N-no! I didn't think you looked old or anything! It's just, uhm... you're a person of auth..aauth..ahhh...ACHOO!

[And that was when Haruka sneezed in Ryuko's face...]

Eh, whatever. Just don't go callin' me that if--

[She raises her hand to dismiss the whole thing as she talks... and then she's hit right square in the face by an epic sneeze. She flinches back, winces her eyes shut and then just... stands there, stock still. Her hand still up, and her eyes still shut against the blast of air and spit.

Squawks' eyes bulge out at the sight for a moment before the large bird lifts his beak and starts cawing out long, hysterical laughs.]

[Haruka blinks, and wipes her nose, her vision clearing from the water drenching her and the sneeze, and... oh. Oh god. She just sneezed in that girl's face, didn't she?

In any case, Crows is laughing his fool head off too.]

... I am so, so sorry!

[As she says this, Haruka is bowing apologetically. Repeatedly.]

[For a moment, Ryuko doesn't say or do anything. She just... kind of... stands there as both birds squawk their stupid laughter and Haruka apologizes profusely. Her jaw works as she grinds her teeth and both hands clench tight into fists and then relax as she breathes in and out. Very. Slowly. Okay. Okay, it was an accident and she's sorry. We're not going to pummel some kid over this.

What she does do is march right over to Squawks. The Fearow pauses in his laughter to look at her quizzically, and then shrieks and flaps furiously enough to scatter feathers around when she grabs one of his wings to wipe her face off.]

Yeah, sure. Whatever, kid. [She releases Squawks' wing and he immediately takes to the air, screeching what are undoubtedly some kind of curses or another at her.] Just... get outta here and change before you catch a cold.

[She's still not... actually looking at her.]

[Upon seeing what Ryuko does to Squawks, Crows goes... absolutely rigid, before hiding behind Haruka, lest Ryuko enact some kind of horrible revenge on him as well. Haruka just... stares, before laughing nervously.]

R-right... [She starts heading off now, with Crows moving to hide again as Haruka turns.] Thank you again, Mi- err, Ryuko!
