Welcome to

When creating a thread, it is advised that players give their prospective thread partners a bit of information in the subject line, such as the characters name and canon, or a possible typing and Enlightened ability (if this is applicable). These are not required, but will make it easier for any prospective players to thread with you. While not required, we also encourage you to take a look at the most recent AU Planning post.
THIS CYCLE'S PROMPTS
#1 It’s a fishing expedition! For a limited time only, this boat full of expert Pokémon anglers will lend interested parties a Super Rod - and provide instructions free of charge. What sort of Pokémon will you reel in? Or will you end up “catching” one of your companions during casting practice?
#2 In a show of goodwill, Gigas has donated a vehicle called a “jeep” to the medics of Union to expedite their arrival on crisis scenes. But a curious young Audino has taken it for a spin - and it’s headed right for the Flower Grove! Look out!
#3 Not to be outdone by Sanctuary’s sporting events, Caldera has invented a sport called Volley-the-Ball! It’s best played on sand, while shirtless. It is hot here in the desert, after all! Pokémon are encouraged to compete on teams alongside their Trainers.
#4 The Warp Bands are experimenting with a new feature that lets you track Pokémon just by keeping an eye on the screen. This is causing traffic jams in town as everybody wanders around looking at their Warp Bands instead of where they’re going. And into the middle of the chaos ambles a little old lady with a Furfrou, trying to find the Growlithe her Warp Band claims is nearby so it can make a friend….
#5 A local restaurant has debuted an “all you can eat” buffet of PokéPuffs and Poffins, which has attracted the notice of a rogue Snorlax. It’s promptly fallen asleep, and is blocking the door to the kitchen with only 15 minutes left till closing. If somebody doesn’t wake it up soon, none of the Pokémon waiting will get to have any treats!
#6 Wildcard! Come up with your own prompt!
If you have any setting questions, or want to do some reading before posting a thread, you can find the setting directory here! Happy tagging!
Keith (Kogane) | Voltron: Legendary Defenders | Fire/Fighting/Undecided God of War
[Upon coming to Union, Keith really didn't know what to expect. He had heard it was a friendly, peaceful town where the people were welcoming. It sounded ...frankly, kind of boring, but. He was here for a reason and he figured why not enjoy the sights, right?]
[This flower ...place was nice, he guessed. Very flowery.]
[Wait, what's that sound?]
[It's a good thing Keith has good reflexes or else he probably would have been roadkill. He leaps just barely out of the way of the jeep as it goes careening into the flowers. Startled, he gets back up.]
What- Hey!
[Oh, it's attacking that place. He should probably stop it. He grabs his sword off his belt that, when he touches, ignites with flames. Someone should ...probably stop him before he blows this place to kingdom come.]
[5]
[He's not sure why he's here. He came out of curiosity when the croud had started to gather, but finding this snorlax at the center...]
[It was causing a lot of problems. Ever helpful, Keith did what he could to help move it short of poking it with his sword. Which he would have tried if one of the other civilians hadn't shrieked and stopped him. Right, right, fine.]
[Maybe he should do this the Union way.]
[Anyone happening on the scene would see a very concentrated, clearly frustrated red in the face teenager trying to talk to this snorlax. He's got his warp band out.]
We can be friends ....if you move out of the way! Please? Come on.
[He's... He's pretty bad at this.]
I'm bonding with you!
5
[Pipes up a voice behind him-- though, where Pidge had even come from in this crowd was left up to debate. It likely was somehow connected with how she had managed to get a bag full of dango in this mess, which she was quietly munching on as her glasses flashed ominously in the dim light.]

What he doesn't expect is to see a familiar face, clearly getting frustrated while trying to fix the problem. Shiro smiles, despite himself. What a good kid.]

Are you sure it works like that?
[Pidge cast a skeptical eye upon the helpful Totodile that was trying to mime how a fishing rod worked in such a way that it seemed like it was getting itself distracted by the very bait it was trying to use. Granted, cheese isn't the best bait, but there's no denying that some of the harder, more well aged ones hidden in the caverns of Refuge had their own unique taste and smell. The Totodile, finishing off the most recent bite of cheese, nodded vigorously.
Pity, neither party was actually able to really communicate with one another.]
Well, all right...
[The skepticism dripped from her words as she took the fishing rod into her hands. Scout the Emolga dove into the back of her loose jacket with a fearful squeak, already wary of what could come of this affair. Baiting the hook with a piece of cheese that she had barely snatched from the hungry Totodile, Pidge cast the line--
And the Totodile, unable to resist it's craving, dove after it with an agitated cry.]
Hey! [Pidge called, already trying to reel the line back in to keep it away from her 'teacher'.] You're not the one I'm supposed to be catching!
3
[...She had no idea how she had even ended up in this mess. It must have been the hair, and the dirty shoes, she decided after the boisterous Calderans had almost literally plucked her off of the streets and insisted that she join them in playing.
Nevermind that the artful and efficient way she had dodged the lumbering of a drunken Pangoro earlier that day was the true reason, and that the burly men were intrigued by her speed.
Curiosity was enough for Pidge to play along with the charade for a while...until the men surrounding her started to peel off their shirts in the heat.
It was only when some starte jokingly insisting that she take off her heavy shirt that she realized the truth:
Her unwitting disguise had worked. They thought she was a boy-- and a talented one at that.
Nervously fiddling with her glasses, Pidge started looking around for an escape.]
....I think someone got the wrong idea here.

[ The swimsuit-clad woman coming up behind Pidge has some kind of moving ornament atop her hat. Oh, wait, it's a Noibat with a bow on its head. Who is chuckling at a joke it told itself. ]

Veronica Ananko | Luck & Logic | Child of the Ever-Changing Skies, typing TBD
[ Being from Glacier, Veronica doesn't need to learn how to fish. Instead, she's on this boat to relax, a glass of wine in one hand as she reclines in a beach chair, a small cloud floating just above her head to shield her from the sun's rays. She's got some sort of a magazine open and a Noibat with a bow on its head is perched on her shoulder, staring intently. When it chitters, she turns a page.
They are both so intent on their "reading" that they'd probably make an easy target if anybody's aim were to go awry... ]

[ Gangway!! Noibat flutters from distracted person to distracted person, hoping to startle them into stopping so the little old lady can make it across the street successfully. Veronica, arms crossed, watches from afar.
These distracted people include you, incidentally. LOOK OUT, SLOW PERSON! ]

Good afternoon.

Saitama | One Punch Man | Normal Master of Training
[You know what's not a lot of fun to do on a day like this? Fishing. That's why Saitama has ducked out of the fishing trip to go for a swim instead. It's a nice spot for it to, real peaceful. Well, except for that Gyarados that had been planning to sink a boat before he'd punched it out before it broke the surface and could cause a ruckus. Other than that, it's great.
Nice enough that he's not really paying attention to where he's swimming and it seems some unsuspecting angler has snagged a hold of his swim trunks. Hold on tight, good fisherperson!]
3
[Maybe that's enough swimming for today. No sooner had Saitama been pulled himself out of his deep-sea swim than he'd been accosted by a gang of rowdy Calderans who decided he looked buff enough to join them in this game. Voll-the-Something-Or-Other.
He'd much rather grab a drink but here is anyway, standing on the other side of the net from whoever else had been pulled into all this.]
Kay. Let's get this thing going, I guess.
[There's a Magikarp flopping around on the sand next to him. Apparently that's his partner for this game.]
1
[Oh, Pidge is holding tight all right-- so tight, in fact, that all momentum between the alleged 'fish' and any attempts to reel said 'fish' in had completely stalled. Gritting her teeth, Pidge jammed her boots up against the wall and tried to pull with every ounce of strength in her twiggy little body.
With...no luck. Sighing, Pidge flopped against the railing in frustration and let the fishing rod dangle from one hand for a moment.]
Man, this is a big one. Not much of a fighter, but still--!!

Kirara Amanogawa | Go! Princess Precure | Far From Ordinary/Master of Evolution
[Yeah, fishing lessons! Or maybe just an excuse to spend a day on a boat. She doesn't seem the most interested in fishing practiced as evidenced by the fact that she'd already handed off her fishing rod to a harried-looking Cleffa while she leans back against the railing to enjoy the sea breeze.
If her flashy style isn't enough to give her away, the black pokeballs she'd carried with her certainly marked her as Gigan. There'd been some hesitation about letting her join the trip until she'd assured the sailors that she wasn't out to actually capture any new Pokemon and in fact, had couple of aquatic Pokemon she was hoping to give a chance to stretch their legs, so to speak. The two of them, a Dratini and a Staryu are swimming alongside the boat, never quite diving or leaving their trainer's line of sight.]
You two be careful, okay? [She calls down with a grin.] You don't want to get hooked by accident!
3
[You might have escaped the Calderans dragging folks into this game, but they aren't the only ones looking to pull people in. Because Kirara's out there looking for a partner and what better partner than the first person she sees?
Moving quickly, she hurries over to grab said nearest person by the arm.]
You look like you'd be good at this! Come on, the game's about to start and I need a partner!
[Whether this is a somebody who's going to argue or a somebody who just can't say no to a pretty face, she's already trying to tug them along.]
5
Oh, come on!
[Kirara stomps her foot in front of the Snorlax after several unsuccessful attempts at budging the brute. Nobody else seems interested in getting it out of here, so why not! She frowns, looking at the cel phone in her hand before angrily stuffing it into the bag at her side and setting it down on a table.]
I don't have time for this, I have a meeting to get to and my Pokemon are hungry! [She plants both hands firmly against the Snorlax's side and begins to push with all of her might.] So get... out... of... the... way...!
[It's not budging at all. Jeez, this would never happen at home.]

Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik | Sonic the Hedgehog | Far From Ordinary/Engineer
[Of all the people who came on this little expedition, one of the individuals who stood out the most was the egg-shaped man with the glamorous mustache, wearing opaque sunglasses, a floral print shirt, sunglasses, and sandals. Standing at his side was a Togepi with a mischievous, almost evil-looking expression on its face.
When he accepted a Super Rod, he did so begrudgingly, muttering something about how he could have designed a superior rod himself. He knew how to fish, at least, casting his line with enough competency to avoid hooking his allies.
His Togepi, however... he had a completely different idea. While his master fished, the weaselly-looking Pokemon went from person to person, keeping an eye on whatever mischief he could get up to. Whether it be shoving them, or trying to nick someone else's belongings... it seemed he was willing to try anything.]
[4]
What is everyone doing?
[Eggman's lips curled into a grimace as he stared at the scene before him, of everyone wandering about with their noses seemingly in the display of their warp bands. The scientist was new to Union, and in coming here, he hadn't expected to see this]
Togepriii!
[Hearing his partner's trilling, Eggman assumed the Pokemon's meaning, before nodding in what he assumed was agreement.]
Agreed. People these days, it doesn't matter where you go. No one wants to talk face to face anymore. We'll certainly have to change that, won't we?
[Togepi... made a face, and shook his head (or body, considering he was all one big round shape). Whatever the Pokemon had meant, it seemed Eggman had missed it entirely.]

4 - Look at this awful idea we have here
Now that she was here, she wasn't sure she'd seen this many people with their eyes glued to screens in Gigas itself. And none of them were very practiced at the art of people dodging! Fortunately, Kirara herself had long since developed great skill at dodging and weaving around pedestrians while keeping one eye on a cell phone so evading a horde of zombified Unionites wasn't proving too difficult?
It was around one particular bend when she paused to lean back and stare at the transfixed face when she catches the sound of a familiar voice. And, then, hopping to get a glimpse over some heads, the fight of an even more familiar mustache.
"Hey!" Rushing and dodging around people, she gradually wades her way across the street, jumping up every few steps and waving one arm in the air, her bright, smiling face popping up every second or two. "Hey, over here! Uncle Ivo!"

Of course, separate from Eggman not understanding his partner (and likely missing the old woman moseying into the crowd), Yui can't see her because she's too short. So she settles for a sigh, though it's not loud enough to drown out the comment she hears a moment later, and she glances over to find... a large man. Still, there are all kinds in Union.]
It is a disheartening trend, yes. What happened to meeting your friends to talk? Or at least writing a letter? Mail is easy enough to move around Union, thanks to Pokémon. Ah, were you thinking of another way to use the Warp Bands, though?

Shiro Takashi | Voltron: Legendary Defenders | Enhanced, Dark/Fighting
[Being Calderan, it's not exactly often that Shiro's been around water. Being part of the Battalion too makes it even less so. He doesn't take time off. But Lu had insisted, so here he is with a fishing rod, trying to figure out how it works.]
And the water Pokemon are okay with this?
2
Everyone, out of the way!
[He's always been the hero, the one to save the day, and now with his new...arm, Shiro's got even better of a chance at doing that. The strange loud thing rumbles towards him, and the former soldier grabs on to the front of it.
It's a good try, but ultimately, the car ends up taking his legs out from under him and driving harmlessly over. At least he's not getting caught under the wheels. Good job, Shiro.]
6 - wildcard
[It's not that he doesn't want anyone to see him, it's just that...he doesn't want anyone to see him. Right.
Union is a busy place, and Shiro originally had no intention of visiting. But his rescuer had insisted, and it was the least he could do for the Riolu that had literally saved his life. At first though, he finds something to cover his metal arm, a long sleeved coat with a hood. Perfect, he can hide the stress-induced bleaching of his hair, too.
Walking into the city is like walking into a different world, and Shiro can't help but gape. It's huge and absolutely crawling with life, human and Pokemon alike. In his amazement, he bumps into someone hard enough to nearly knock them over. Apologizing profusely, Shiro goes to help them, the hood falling back as he helps them steady themselves.]
6 you can't make that a prompt and not expect me throw myself at it
[So, yeah, he definitely doesn't see Shiro when he bumps into him. He's easily knocked off balance and his boxes go tumbling to the ground. Not even realizing who he plowed into, he barks out an agitated complaint.]
Watch where you're going!

Asui Tsuyu | My Hero Academia | Froakie Shifter
['Fishing' was a concept that Tsu was long familiar with, for even the waters surrounding the frigid Glacier felt almost balmy in the summers when she took her little brother and sister out to help them practice stretching their legs...literally and metaphorically. Fishing with their bare hands-- or tongue, as the case may be-- was simply the best option to make sure the two of them stayed on track in their learning process. With their parents busy at the Harbors, Tsu was the one who needed to step into the caretaker role and oversee her siblings' well being. She never minded a bit.
But, she did need a chance to relax as herself, too.
She eyed the fishing rod she had been handed curiously. While she knew how to use it, the tool was simply... inefficient.]
Huh. Maybe we should pull the boat over so I can show someone how to do it a better way.
[The rod was still delicatly held in her hand while she lifted a finger to tap her cheek. It was a hypothetical question, not intended for anyone to answer...
But, she wouldn't say 'no' either.]
3
[Tsu decided that she liked the heat better than the cold. Sure, it was a blisteringly dry heat, but so long as she was able to stay properly hydrated, it wasn't a problem. In fact, she felt downright energetic and excited as she leapt across the field to receive the ball for one of the other, taller players on her team.]
Look up! [She called after she saved the ball from striking sand, hoping that someone would intercept and send it flying over the net.]
3
[Dororo looks up as the volleyball flew out of bounds, and he leaps up, countering with a vicious double-kick, sending it flying right back to the field and over the net]
Careful there!

And the young man bolted back to his feet on high alert, dropping his cloak on whomever it was that he had grabbed so they would have some manner of protection in this.]
Athena, did you get a good look at that? [He asked the tiny Ralts, who nodded; it was someone trying to help...]
That's dangerous, [Tsurugi intoned, before glancing back at the person he had dragged to safety.]
Are you okay?
5

[Tsurugi looked up at the dozing Snorlax and sighed in frustration. Some people (or pokemon) just didn't seem to have any manners...

Hold it right there!!!!
[ Zoom. A red blur zips past in your vision, skidding to a halt in front of that jeep. Once stationary, it reveals itself to be a tall, muscular young woman with entirely too much hair and some sort of large polearm strapped to her back.
