TESTRUN MEME

1) Harvest time! The Agricultural Tower needs a hand harvesting the crops. How is that working out for you and your Pokemon?

2) It's starting to get a bit chilly out! Snow is now blanketing the ground and as an unfortunate side effect Ice Types are now on a rampage through Union. They seem to be having a lot of fun, but it's inconveniencing everyone else, what do you do?

3) Soulfasting is upon us, and festivals abound. Residents have taken to one of the larger parks in Union to celebrate. There are delicious sweets, performances on stage and other spectacles. Some people from the audience are even being pulled up on stage! How are you celebrating?

4) With Autumn coming to a close, many trees within the Verdant Forest have shed their leaves into enormous piles. Unfortunately, this extends beyond the forest and into Union itself, and there is now a big leaf problem. You get to clean it up, have fun!

5) Wildcard! Come up with a prompt!

[ Natto nods, hoping that's reverence he detects on Shin's face. His Trainer is pretty cool, and it'd be neat if everybody thought that, too!

Um. Not that he. Wants to force his opinions on people, because that's just mean. Not to mention impolite. He bites what passes for his lower lip. You're welcome to make your own impressions of his Trainer, of course! He's sure she'd love to race you! ] Lea lea..

[ Haruka smirks. Forget it, in that case. ] The Rhyhorn racetrack sometimes holds free-for-alls. You could enroll him there.

[ There's also framed newspaper clippings about her hanging in the administration building at the racetrack, but she doesn't actually think about that. She raced for herself. If they want to keep track of whether she broke records or whatever, that's their job. ]

Rhyhorn racing, eh? Is that what you do?

Haruka. [ She looks questioningly over at Shin. Did you need something, little buddy?

Natto beams. This is where the friendship happens. He's sure of it. ]

[Shin's stubby little tail started to wag. He was cute, right? Was he cute enough for her? Please say he was cute! He could be really cute!]

I think he likes you...

[Duo looked almost embarrassed.]

Can I see him run some more?

[ What the heck. She might as well humor the little guy.

Stop beaming, Natto. This wasn't your idea. ]

Yeah, sure.

[He put Shin down.]

Okay, buddy... just don't scatter the leaves too much, okay? We just swept a lot of them up.

[Shin barked out a quick 'dour!' before taking off again. He was still a bit stubby and puppy-like because he hadn't evolved, yet, but he was quick.]

Hmm...

[ That's not bad. Haruka lets him run a little bit before opening the prongs on her Warp Band and fiddling with the controls. ]

That's handicap enough.

[ SUPER BEAUTY! Haruka chooses YOU!

The baby Rhyhorn hits the ground running - literally. She doesn't even seem to have noticed the scenery's changed, but. Up ahead. Something else is going fast.

So she'll try to catch up! Time to see if Shin's competitive... ]

Huh?

[Duo blinked in surprise at first and then watched. This should be interesting. He'd never run Shin against another Pokemon before.

At first, Shin didn't even notice. He was just having too much fun running like a maniac with permission. But then he heard the rumbling noise of a Rhyhorn behind him, and it was getting louder. He flattened his ears. So, a race, eh? He'd see about that! He turned suddenly, making it more interesting and less of a straight run. C'mon... keep up!]

[ And Super Beauty....keeps running in a straight line. For about fifty paces. Then, realizing what's happened, she brakes hard and tries to turn herself around to race in the proper direction. She scrambles and kicks up quite a bit of dust, but for a Rhyhorn she does pretty well. Not even this bush she just ran through slows her down.

Haruka limits herself to watching for now. She wants to see how well the kid can fare without mental steering like she and World Shaking used to do. ]

[Duo couldn't help it. He chuckled a little at the Rhyhorn baby as she skidded about to keep up. It was cute and amusing.

Shin, in the meantime, had taken on a nice lead now. Twists and turns and agility were his strength. He dodged under and around things. This might get messy for a stampeding Rhyhorn!]

[ Super Beauty's increased socialization with Pokémon other than her fellow Rhyhorn have enabled her to keep up with turns now that she knows to expect them: she's just locked onto Shin's little stubby tail as her target and won't divert from gaining on it. Obstacles, though? What obstacles?

When next she and Shin run past Duo and Haruka, she's got a tree branch stuck to herself. Haruka clears her throat. ] Are you a new Trainer?

Kinda? I mean, it was Shin who found me in the Scorched Forest on my way here from Caldera. I didn't have any when I left. And here, I came across Gear over there when I had to chase Shin down into the Old City.

[During all the goofing off, there was an industrious little Klink still sweeping up leaves.]

[ So he's from Caldera. Good information. Haruka smirks. ] Welcome to Union.

[ Super Beauty is pretty sure if she puts her head down and charges, she can catch up to Shin now...!!! ]

[She might! But Shin heard her coming (Rhyhorns weren't exactly quiet with charging!), and that just made him make another quick turn!]

[ The tail moved! The tail is in that direction now! Super Beauty has to scramble again, almost falling over, but sheer teeth-gritted willpower has her banking a sharp turn and charging at that Houndour with all her might. Running is her life! She will run faster no matter what!

Haruka blinks. Huh. If she'd only grow more.....a Rhyhorn who can handle sharp turns like that needs to race. But she's been hatched for months now and is still tiny. All the speed in the world can't help her if she doesn't make regulations...

...and she's spacing out in "public", isn't she. ]
