TESTRUN MEME

1) New Years Celebration! There are fireworks all over the city! And that means your Pokémon are probably hiding under the bed. No matter how big they are. What do?

2) There's been some heavy snowfall and the connecting bridges are overloaded. They're really slick and icy and need to be plowed for safety. You and your Pokémon have been selected for this "honor". Have fun!

3) With the winter coming, the Hot Springs have been overwhelmed by an abundance of monkey Pokémon. They've been attacking citizens who are trying to soak in the pools and it's creating a big problem. Go resolve it!

4) Caldera has been working on a project to restore some of their fortifications, and that means they need strong trainers and Pokémon to help carry and work the stone and metal. Time to help out!

5) The Tropical Island has become something of a destination in the wintertime, and it's getting really crowded. Some Pokémon researchers need to conduct studies on the volcano but the throng of tourists is simply too much. Help clear a path!

...a Froslass? I haven't seen one around, no, sorry.

[Mitsuru just looks more intimidating that she generally is. Honestly, she's a nice girl. Sheesh. Why is everyone so scared of her?

She blinks as she looks at the other girl, recognizing her after a few seconds.]

Excuse me, are you Rise Kujikawa? [She might not be very familiar with popular cultural, but she knows who her family's company sponsors from time to time.

And the answer is expected, but not exactly what she wanted to hear.]

I just hope she's staying out of trouble. She's almost as much of an adventure-seeker as someone else I know. [Akihiko, she's talking about you.]

Oh, uh, yes, I am.

[She's trying very quickly to think if she'd ever advertised for one of the Kirijos' interests, because she somehow doubts a beautiful and elegant noble woman listened to much pop music. In the meantime, a different subject is good.]

And I do know what you mean. Especially Ghost-types, you know? And with everyone walking around in formalwear today, a Froslass would be pretty hard to spot...

It's nice to finally meet you. I think I've seen your posters in my friend's bedroom. I'm Mitsuru Kirijo.

[She bows slightly. Manners are always in order when meeting strangers.]

I've had her since she was a Snorunt, but Skadi seems to find it fun to try and scare the visitors to every shrine I've attended today.

[That's...not a weird way of phrasing things at all, nope.]

[She returns the bow, probably lower than she has to.]

Haha, yeah, like you said, I'm Rise Kujikawa. It's nice to meet you. And Mizore's almost the same way, although she's more of the traditional "lead you around until you get lost" Froslass. Not that dangerous in the city, but still kind of a pain...

[She has normal friends. Who are interested in pop culture, to a point. And she's seen them around town too.

You have a Froslass too? Skadi leads others around sometimes, but she prefers to do that in the woods. It's how I met Artemisia, my Bulbasaur, actually.

I think I succesfully talked Mizore out of doing it where anyone could actually freeze to death, like in the mountains where I met her.

[Although you never can tell with some Pokémon.]

I guess it was good luck on your part, though. Bulbasaurs are pretty rare.

Oh, well, Skadi hasn't reached that level yet. She just likes to lead people around the outskirts of the forests so far.

[Let's hope it can stay that way, though Mitsuru isn't taking any bets on that.]

Yes, I know. I feel very lucky to have found one that was willing to bond with me so easily. However, she doesn't care for the cold that much.

Most Grass-types don't. Nadeshiko - she's my Meganium - doesn't even want to leave the Habitat unless I've got someone around who can warm the place up.

[Or maybe she just really likes Rise's Drought Vulpix for some reason. Who can tell?]

Hm, Artemisia has just taken up residence in the sun room at home. She sits in patches of sunlight and makes the servants keep the temperature at a moderate level.

[She might be a little spoiled, but it's okay.]

You have a sun room?

[Of course she does, she's made of money and breeding.]

It's probably easy to keep your Pokémon happy at your place, huh? I'm renting a room at a theater right now, so it's only really my Pokémon that really like close contact staying there instead of the Habitat.

I suppose so. I've never really thought about it in that context.

[Because her friends are two boys that she doesn't go to see their homes (it's not proper) and Yukiko Amagi. She has a normal home and it's still rather nice, even Mitsuru can tell.]

Is it practical to rent a room there? [She didn't even know it was possible] It seems a little inconvenient.

Well, they only give them out if you work there. Room and board is part of my paycheck.

Ah, that makes sense. [It's still a little strange to her, but then she's never had to work the same way as other people do.]

Do you like it then? Working there? I haven't been to the theater lately, so I didn't know you were part of the ensemble.

Ah, well, it's still a fairly small theater, at least compared to those Kricketune guys...but yeah, I really like it. It's surprisingly laid back compared to working for ACE Studios, although that might be because we have Haruka Tenoh setting the mood...

[aka Rise is the only person there who actually rehearses and one of about two who even reads the script.]

[Mitsuru frowns at the comment about ACE Studios, considering her family supported nearly every project they did. but she's heard the other woman's name before today.]

The Enlightened actress works at a small theater? I hadn't heard that lately.

She sorta...comes and goes, at times.

[She was, after all, only acting as a sideline.]
