TEST DRIVE MEME: JUNE + JULY EDITION

Welcome to bravenewworld's test drive meme! This post is designed to help players test out their characters within the setting, as well as give them an opportunity to collect samples for their future application. The prompts below are all optional, and can be used to get a feel for the game, but we encourage players to get creative and use this post however best suits their needs. Players are encouraged to use either first person or third person for their threads.

When creating a thread, it is advised that players give their prospective thread partners a bit of information in the subject line, such as the characters name and canon, or a possible typing and Enlightened ability (if this is applicable). These are not required, but will make it easier for any prospective players to thread with you.

THIS CYCLE'S PROMPTS
#1 Refuge has opened its gates to the people of Union, Caldera and Citadel, in the most hospitable way they feel possible: A party. Some have come to explore the expansive underground city, but mostly, word has spread about how Refuge's brews are on point. They don't seem to discriminate on age, either.

#2 The city of Caldera is starting a major production project and they need workers. The forges are constantly going day and night and the pay's good, but it's hot, hard work that'll leave you tired and achy to say the least.

#3 The Summer Solstice festival has begun in Citadel. The tree is in full bloom, with flowers of every color dot its branches. This week-long celebration brings together the various tribes that call Citadel its home through music, dancing and, of course, fighting. There is a tournament set to begin, boasting some of the strongest Valkyries that Citadel has ever known among the combatants.

#4 The heat has really gotten to the people of Union, and as a result many have moved south for a weekend get-away in the Archipelago and the larger Island. The sand is warm and the water is too, but doesn't the beach seem a bit crowded for a once seemingly deserted area?

[He was so close, so beary close. Just within paws reach and victory was snatched away from him!]



[Teddie turns to Yosuke, frowning at the comment.] My nose is nothing like a faucet! [He says as he sniffs the snot back up.] See!? Perfectly normal! [And it's already starting to drip again.]

And I don't see you doing any better Yosuke.

[punchesyu]

Hey, lay off! [His hands find his hips, leaning over and sneering a little.]

If you can't keep that crap under control, you're not going to even manage landing a girl of your own species! Freaky bear. [Even Yosuke knows that Teddie's a little...bigger than normal for a Cubchoo.]

[bearlydressed]

I've got it completely und-ah. Ah-. AHCHOO! [Well, there goes all that watery snot. At least Teddie had the decency of covering his mouth.]



Ugh, I don't feel so good... [Maybe those girls were right? He might have something.]

[punchesyu]

Grossssssssssssss!!!! [He backs up, hoping none of that got on him.]

Are you sick? How does a Cubchoo catch a cold anyway?

[Teddie: The Enigma.]

I think I might be. [He pulls his paws away from his mouth and-

Okay that is really gross. He's got snot all over, and what doesn't stick to his fur runs down onto the sand.]

I dunno how! Maybe it's the heat? [The sun can be rather unforgiving to ice types.]

[punchesyu]

Sick! [He moves away from the bear, looking grossed out by the snot all over his paws.]

Then why are you out here if being in the heat makes you sick...

[Like DUH, TEDDIE.]

Bearcause it's no better in Union! [He tries to shake some of the snot off his paws.] I'd melt into the cracks if I stayed there for too long!

[punchesyu]

Helloooooo, it's summer time, it's going to be hot everywhere. Why don't you migrate north or something?

[He knows the answer to that, but he'll still complain.]

[bearlydressed]

That's even worse! [The distance he would have to go would be brutal.] Even if it was cooler, there's no way I could walk that far! [He throws a paw out towards the ocean. Whether it's actually pointing Northward was questionable. Teddie wasn't going to bother to check, he was trying to make a point here!]

[punchesyu]

Whatever, bear. [It probably would be the end of Teddie. He still doesn't understand how the bear managed to live as long as he has.]

C'mon, we gotta get you cleaned up, before you make a mess anywhere else. [Or in front of someone.]

[bearlydressed]

[He takes a look at the mess he's currently making. Oh wow, is it starting to pool? Hope no one ends up stepping in that]

This is going to take bearever to get out of my fur. [Along with all the sand too.]

Right, to the nearest bath! [Better get a move on! He carefully steps around the snot covered sand, holding his paws out to the side as to not dirty his fur even more.]

[punchesyu]

Hey. We're right next to the ocean, why don't you just go jump in there?

[There's no soap, but that should work to get the majority of the snot off of him, he thinks.]

[bearlydressed]

[He turns toward the ocean, noting the sheer amount of people in the water before turning back to Yosuke.]

Do you think that's a good i-i AAAAAAAAHCHOO! [Well, that sneeze was certainly unexpected. And this time, Teddie didn't quite cover his nose. Now there's a bucket full of snot flying everywhere.]



Idea... [At least he finished his sentence.]

Seriously, will you watch it with the snotworks??? [He'd barely dodged out of the way on that one.]

Man, you really are sick! Dude, just quick go scrub that shit off in the ocean and get back out. We have to get you somewhere cold before you get any worse.

[bearlydressed]

Alright, alright! I'm going. [He turns and begins to maneuver toward the ocean, leaving a small trail in his wake.]

'Scuse me! Pardon me! Bear coming through! [At least people are polite enough to give him some room to walk past. Or they've noticed the snot right away.]

[punchesyu]

[Yosuke will wait patiently on the beach, not wanting to go near the water at all while Teddie washes himself off so they can get the hell out of here and get him somewhere colder so he doesn't melt right on the beach. He'll also take this time to check out the ladies that Teddie hasn't scared away yet, ogling a group of girls that look about his age.

And not tell Teddie about them so he doesn't get shown up by the bear again.]

[Well, the water is certainly warm enough, but when he does start washing himself he does get a few strange looks. Scruba dub dub, the ocean is now a tub.

After taking his sweet time, Teddie heads back over to Yoskue. His fur was soaking wet, but at least all the snot and sand was gone.] There, I'm one clean bear now!

[punchesyu]

Okay, bear. Try not to sneeze till we get somewhere with plenty of towels for you to ruin. [Because he doesn't figure there's anyway a normal kleenex is going to be able to handle Teddie's snot.]

There's a beach house just over there, they'll be able to take care of you. But you have to take yourself to the doctor, got it?

[bearlydressed]

[He can already feel snot starting to drip, so he sniffs it back up quickly. He can't make any promises, but...] I'll try my best. [As best as a bear can.]

Right, I'll be sure to do that! [Because being sick is the worst, especially since he can't score with any ladies like this!

He starts to head off toward the beach house, since who knows when another sneeze might happen.] Don't have too much fun out here without me Yosuke!
