TEST DRIVE MEME: JUNE + JULY EDITION

Welcome to bravenewworld's test drive meme! This post is designed to help players test out their characters within the setting, as well as give them an opportunity to collect samples for their future application. The prompts below are all optional, and can be used to get a feel for the game, but we encourage players to get creative and use this post however best suits their needs. Players are encouraged to use either first person or third person for their threads.

When creating a thread, it is advised that players give their prospective thread partners a bit of information in the subject line, such as the characters name and canon, or a possible typing and Enlightened ability (if this is applicable). These are not required, but will make it easier for any prospective players to thread with you.

THIS CYCLE'S PROMPTS
#1 Refuge has opened its gates to the people of Union, Caldera and Citadel, in the most hospitable way they feel possible: A party. Some have come to explore the expansive underground city, but mostly, word has spread about how Refuge's brews are on point. They don't seem to discriminate on age, either.

#2 The city of Caldera is starting a major production project and they need workers. The forges are constantly going day and night and the pay's good, but it's hot, hard work that'll leave you tired and achy to say the least.

#3 The Summer Solstice festival has begun in Citadel. The tree is in full bloom, with flowers of every color dot its branches. This week-long celebration brings together the various tribes that call Citadel its home through music, dancing and, of course, fighting. There is a tournament set to begin, boasting some of the strongest Valkyries that Citadel has ever known among the combatants.

#4 The heat has really gotten to the people of Union, and as a result many have moved south for a weekend get-away in the Archipelago and the larger Island. The sand is warm and the water is too, but doesn't the beach seem a bit crowded for a once seemingly deserted area?

[Peter pats Teddie on the head and turns, letting the 'boss' come around to see the weird bear thing.

And it's Snor-Lord, boss...not Peter.]

Huh.

[Yukiko just blinks.]

It's...a really big Cubchoo? That talks?

[Teddie holds his paws to the top of his head after being patted.]

Well of course I can talk! [Duh!]



But, what's a Cubchoo?

Uh. You?

[Yukiko steps around fully, arms folded.]

You're not a Teddiursa or a Snorlax, that's for sure. And you're a bear Pokemon.

[bearlydressed]

I'm a Cubchoo? [He sounded awestruck by this information.]

I've heard of a bear, but not any of those other things. [Teddiursa? Snorlax? Pokemon?] It's all new to me!

[frozenflame]

You look like one...

[Yukiko just shrugs.]

And if you don't know what you are that's okay. It's nice to meet you. Do you have a name?

[bearlydressed]

Well, you certainly know a lot more about what I am than I do! [Maybe this girl could help him out?]

Oh, my name's Teddie! What's yours?

Oh no...

[He's so cuuuuute.]

I'm Yukiko. It's nice to meet you, Teddie. Um...do you not know anything at all? About you?

[bearlydressed]

[Her question makes him frown and hang his head dejectedly.] Almost nothing at all. I know I'm a bear and that I'm from the canyon, but that's it.

[frozenflame]

Well that's okay. You'll just have to learn as you go.

[Yukiko does not at all seem worried, if anything, she sounds cheerful]

Peter agrees, right?

[Peter groans. Boss...it's Snor-Lord, not Peter. But yeah, he's gotcha.]

[bearlydressed]

[Learn as he goes, huh? He perks up, a thought occurring that must be shared.]

Well, I did just learn that I'm a Cubchoo thanks to you! [He gives Yukiko a bright smile.] Maybe if I stick around, I'll learn a lot pretty quickly! [He's just arrived after all, and discovering that he's a Cubchoo was already a big leap forward.]

Maybe so. If nothing else, you'll have people around to help you out.

[She flashes a thumbs up beside Snor-Lord.]

And Peter already likes you.

[Snor...Lord...man, c'mon!]

That's what I came here for actually! To ask for help! [He needs as much as he can get after all.

Though hearing that Peter likes him, Teddie has to address the other bear now.] Glad to hear that I'm beary likeable. You're not too bad yourself Peter! Even though you did nearly scare me out of my fur.

Well let's get you to Union then, and we'll find you a place to stay.

[He can't just stay at the Habitat. Yosuke'll have to take him in. Yukiko sure can't...]
