When creating a thread, it is advised that players give their prospective thread partners a bit of information in the subject line, such as the characters name and canon, or a possible typing and Enlightened ability (if this is applicable). These are not required, but will make it easier for any prospective players to thread with you.
If you have any setting questions, or want to do some reading before posting a thread, you can find the setting directory here! Happy tagging!THIS CYCLE'S PROMPTS
#1 With a sudden interest in the inner workings of Sanctuary, the mage city has decided to host a cultural festival. Taking place over an entire week, events include exciting magic duels, extravagant tea parties, and a "mouth watering" feast of delicacies from the middle and upper class. These include such things as a curious-looking sausage, an interesting-smelling dish made with Stunfisk, and a number of boiled foods! Delicious!
#2 Wingull and Pelipper have taken up residency in the port! Loud, obnoxious and somewhat destructive, they have been creating issues for Union fishermen, creating a shortage of seafood in the city. The Council have reached out to a few, ahem, adventurous types willing to chase them off. It's a messy job, but someone has to do it! Don't wear anything you want to wear again!
#3 In a show of good will, Caldera invites the citizens of Refuge to experience a self-proclaimed "true summer." Extending the invitation to the people of Union and Citadel, the food flows freely--as does the Refuge-brewed alcohol. Things are bound to get rowdy, but what is a good party without a bit of exercise and entertainment?
#4 The herds in Citadel are growing! Miltank, Tauros and Bouffalant herd sizes are at an all time high this year in part due to the assistance from other civilizations and the unusually warm spring. Farmers and herders around the area are looking for workers, and will pay in milk, meat and hides. This work is not for the faint of heart, however, and may prove to be a bitcrappydifficult.
#5 Wildcard! Come up with your own prompt!

"I've never given it much thought. We don't have a lot of fish in Caldera. Desert and all that." She looks at the Noibat with a vague expression, adjusting her glasses as she continues.
"Is all this backed up by scientific proof, or is it just a matter of opinion? It doesn't sound unbelievable, but I've always seen Finneon around Union with some regularity. Figured it was common."
no subject
"I confess that I am no scientist myself. I've merely read it through books... and from personal experience. I must say that my own physical constitution never failed me when I ate it regularly.
But commonality does not mean it cannot be beneficial!"
no subject
Lucca just has to ask. If he's yammering about it so much, it doesn't seem like the sort of thing that he'd just stop eating at all. And she's actually curious to hear what he's got to say. He does seem awfully thin...
no subject
Truth of it was, he's had to make do without for much longer than it might appear. But that did not need to be discussed, as far as he was concerned.
"Next time I swing by Union, however, I intend to partake as much as I can. Some people may not abide by the practice of eating fish, but I am not one of those people. I was merely hoping that this dish could come close."
And obviously it fell well short. And onto the floor.
"I apologize, I have not yet introduced myself. My name is Valvatorez. A pleasure, miss."
no subject
She takes a long look at Val, sizing him up a bit more. Strange looking dude, funny clothes, but not unfriendly. That was nice at least.
"I can't really say I'm against the whole meat thing either. Nutrition is nutrition. And we all need protein. Though I'm more a beef-eater myself."
no subject
"Mm, I can understand why. Many people prefer to get it from nuts or beans, to which I understand. But we humans are omnivores by nature, and to indulge in both is perfectly natural. ...Though price often tends to play a part as well."
Meat being expensive was often an issue. There was a reason he usually preferred to fish his own meals up.
"But tell me, what do you think of this place?"
no subject
That one was a bit more loaded. She was not fond of Sanctuary's methods. She'd fought in the battle, and she was more than aware of what happened here. And that she'd been lied to and tricked. But Gigas? Was Gigas...
"The people are alright. I mean, if you heard about the Homunculus project you'll know why I have a few misgivings about their means, but the city itself is pretty neat. In an...exotic wizard sort of way."
no subject
"I've heard of the experiments that have taken place here. They are messing with things that ought not to be." He was aware that speaking frankly about it in public would probably not win him friends or allies here. But he didn't care, and he felt he was strong enough to back up his assessments if push came to shove. Confidence was not something he lacked. "I have no ill will toward the homunculi themselves, however. I suspect many of them had no say in their lot. Merely their creators are the ones I take issue with... and they are very unlikely to see justice done in a society that stratifies this kind of work."
He shifted, somewhat uncomfortably. A mageocracy made him terribly unhappy; passing down authority through family lines was a dangerous game, in his eyes... but he had always been something of a radical. He looked down the street, deeper into the city proper.
"At least the architecture is pleasing to the eye."
no subject
Lucca shrugs her shoulders and leans back, rocking on her heels as she thinks on it. It was pretty weird, honestly. Enhanced made a lot more sense really. Science and all that, she never really cottoned to this magical nonsense and mageocracy.
It didn't help that she lived with a Homunculus, having taken in Jack Frost. And he was very vocal.
"And it is at that. Kinda...homey. In a grim sorta way. Hard to tell it was occupied by Gigas, though."
