When creating a thread, it is advised that players give their prospective thread partners a bit of information in the subject line, such as the characters name and canon, or a possible typing and Enlightened ability (if this is applicable). These are not required, but will make it easier for any prospective players to thread with you. While not required, we also encourage you to take a look at the most recent AU Planning post.
THIS CYCLE'S PROMPTS
#1 Summer means it's time for a vacation! You and your Pokémon have hit the beach only to discover that not only has everyone else had the exact same idea, there's a bullying Raichu and Snubbull wandering around stepping on people's sandcastles! Will you stand up to them or let the squabble pass you by?
#2 A Noctowl has delivered you a message inviting you to enroll in Sanctuary's "Spoinkwarts School of Magecraft". How will you respond? If you say yes, you'd better head there for your supplies....it's doubtful you're able to buy cauldrons and Swellow-feather quills in Union.
#3 Perhaps it's time to beat the heat by heading to Refuge. But you've ventured there as evening is falling, and that can only mean one things: Zubats. Zubats everywhere. All at once. Suddenly. There is no escape, there is no release. There is only Zubat, and this cave.
#4 Aggron from the northern mountains have discovered Glacier music and are trying it out for themselves! Unfortunately, the only parts they've mastered are the grunting, yelling, and whipping their heads (and tails) around violently. Enjoy the concert!
#5 The Verdant Forest is full of pollen this time of year! And it looks like this Petilil that won't stop following you is allergic to....itself. It's also giving off pollen. Everywhere. Seriously, even if you don't have allergies, you're in trouble.
#6 Wildcard! Come up with your own prompt!
If you have any setting questions, or want to do some reading before posting a thread, you can find the setting directory here! Happy tagging!
this is the timeline shift no one deserves but everyone needs
Ken doesn't so much as blink, slipping a smirk onto his face. How fortunate that he is wearing his mask
that I am only just this moment mentioning! He always feels twice as invincible behind it.And since he's naturally invincible, that's a lot. ]
Would you prefer I aimed for your face? [ He turns to face this person better, show he isn't intimidated by her displeasure. ] You're pretty ungrateful.
it's so true though
no subject
[ But he knew you were here this whole time. Totally. Yup. ]
no subject
A sneak, am I? Seems more like you have a general lack of awareness to me.
[Though she did have a certain amount of pride in her own subtlety.]
no subject
But that's not possible. Not that she could have read his insecurities. And not that he could have insecurities in the first place. Refusing to think any further about it, Ken changes the topic, adding some extra Authority to his
eleven-year-oldvoice. ]What are you doing out here?
no subject
[She examines a few strands of her hair, seeming more interested in it than in him.]
no subject
But he doesn't like being belittled, either. How is she doing this? How has she not been wowed into submission by his cleverness yet? It's because she's just some person with a big mouth he can't let this go.
No matter how much this weird instinct in his gut is telling him to get out. He can't be in over his head because there's no such thing. How dare stupidity be contagious. ] By that logic, you'd be trespassing. But I'll permit that if you tell me whether you've seen any other Pokémon around.
[ Aside from, y'know, Petilil. Who has since shuffled off as quietly as it can. ]
no subject
[She's both amused and irritated, moreso the latter, but confident enough to continue to feign her disinterest and disdain.]
Most of the ones that were in this area scattered into hiding. Word travels fast. Except for those foolish enough to linger.
[Like those poor, unfortunate Petilils. But she's not entirely unhelpful, as much as his attitude grated. If it was bait he needed ...]
I did see territorial Scyther prowling around earlier. That's the sort of match you're looking for, isn't it.
no subject
[ Scyther are still Bug-types, though. Bug-types irritate Ken. They usually want to hug him. It's distressing.
But he supposes he can't eliminate any possibilities until he's seen them for himself. ] Steer clear from now on. The Pokémon in this forest are my prey.
[ Or, well. One of them, somewhere, has to be worthy of becoming his partner. A perfect Pokémon for the perfect human.
Nothing like that Burmy and Venipede he can't get to leave his house at home. ]
no subject
[There was a slight edge to her tone, only for a moment. There was something fun about filling the boy's ego, to a point, but she would not stand for him being dismissive of her. But she returns to shrugging dismissively once more, with a lighter tone.]
I have no intention of standing between you and your prey. You're free to carry on.
no subject
[ That said, sure, he's out of here. Already justifying to himself that he isn't running from this encounter - he's cutting his losses and abandoning a fruitless pursuit. He isn't ceding ground - he's chasing his true objective. And if it turns out she lied about the Scyther, or they fail to impress, well! So much the better.
That will give him a reason to pay back this encounter.
He laughs a little once he's out of the clearing. It makes him feel better. ]
no subject
[She watched him go, waiting until he left the clearing altogether before she scowled outright, biting down on the edge of her glove in her frustration.
The little Petilil that had caused the trouble pokes it's head out from the bushes, still trembling, but is barely spared a glance.]
Don't you come to me for sympathy. If that little brat keeps it up, he'll get what he deserves sooner or later.
[Which could be a problem, eventually, though not one she wanted to think about. Playing 'babysitter' was hardly an enterprising activity.]
