TESTRUN MEME

1) New Years Celebration! There are fireworks all over the city! And that means your Pokémon are probably hiding under the bed. No matter how big they are. What do?

2) There's been some heavy snowfall and the connecting bridges are overloaded. They're really slick and icy and need to be plowed for safety. You and your Pokémon have been selected for this "honor". Have fun!

3) With the winter coming, the Hot Springs have been overwhelmed by an abundance of monkey Pokémon. They've been attacking citizens who are trying to soak in the pools and it's creating a big problem. Go resolve it!

4) Caldera has been working on a project to restore some of their fortifications, and that means they need strong trainers and Pokémon to help carry and work the stone and metal. Time to help out!

5) The Tropical Island has become something of a destination in the wintertime, and it's getting really crowded. Some Pokémon researchers need to conduct studies on the volcano but the throng of tourists is simply too much. Help clear a path!

3. [Well, that sure is a mess. While he originally came out to the hot springs to see what all the commotion was, maybe get a few pictures, when he saw that there were pokemon attacking innocent people he couldn't just stand around.]

[That weird photographer guy that just moved to town sure is punching that monkey in the face.]

[One might also find a small, runty cubone trying to help as well.]

6. [You were minding your own business, keeping to yourself, and then suddenly FLASH. Oh shit, did someone just take your picture?]

[Maybe, or maybe he was aiming for something that was near you, it's up to you! In any case he lowers the camera and flashes a grin.]

Sorry about that. Did I startle you?

[The click of the shutter and flash of the bulb was enough to startle Daisuke enough from his slumber to groan and bury his head deeper into the sleeve of his jacket.]

It's not morning yet, [He mumbled, fully aware that the sun had only just begun it's slow, downward descent toward the horizon.] Can't a guy catch a little shut eye?

Is it common for Unionites to sleep on park benches?

[Eyebrow raise.]

It's common when you don't want to be found.

[He frowned at the stranger from underneath his thick, disheveled bangs with a look of discontent in his green eyes. Clearly, it had been a long night.]

Skipping work, I presume? Or maybe you had a fight with the missus.

[He's awfully nosy.]

A little bit of one...and a little bit of the other?

[He was being nosy, and Daisuke didn't really care for answering at that moment. The stranger will just have to settle with the non-answer for now.]

Who are you, anyway? You're not from around here.

[He whistles but otherwise doesn't continue that conversation. Instead he stands up straight and offers his hand.]

Hayato Ichimonji. I'm a freelance Photographer from Caldera.

[The blond stands as well, stretching out his lanky limbs that were stiff from napping on the bench before taking the stranger's hand with a smile.]

Daisuke Aurora, [He said with a firm shake and a sly grin.] Hope you're not going to try to sell that photo. It's not gonna be the best shot.

[Hayato does a good job not showing it, but handshakes are horrifying endeavors for him. Being an enhanced steel type and having a shaky control over your strength at best made almost all little things like that a federal fucking issue for him to overcome.]

You sure? I got a fantastic upshot of the inside of your nostrils.

Is that right? [Daisuke grinned, rolling along with this little game.] In that case, I know a few collectors in town who'd be willing to pay big bucks for that type of shot!

[There was a teasing look in his eyes, as if he didn't even notice any shakiness in the small gesture that the two shared between them. After all, who was he to judge a stranger-- or anyone?]

[ And this sure is someone catching that monkey as it goes flying. ] Careful. You could hurt someone.

Jolteon!

[ Gold, don't agree with that. You're a soaking wet Electric type. ]

[Oh, hey. Nice catch.]

You talking to me or that Aipom that was pulling that little girl's hair?

[Oh, that sure is a wet Jolteon. The Cubone what was near by, who was ineffectually trying to whack a mankey on the head with it's bone, comes over to see what's going on.]

Eon ee. [ Hi! Gold was taking a bath and then he heard noises. So he's come to help! How can he help? Why are there so many monkeys?

Haruka tosses said Aipom to the ground behind her without looking: it's a limber little thing, it'll land on its feet. ] You're making a fuss.

Bone! [Goro doesn't know either, they were just here to take pictures and all these pokemon went bananas!]

[His brows furrow.]

Do you have a better plan?

[actsmagnificent]

Jolt! [ That's dangerous - both for themselves and others! Gold learned a new move the other day, though, that stops people in their tracks. Should he use that? Maybe it will be helpful. It's called Thunder Wave, which is a cool name....

His already-dripping fur begins sparking with electricity.

Haruka shrugs, snagging a Mankey that's trying to climb her leg and Gusting it away. ] Just an observation.

Cubone-bone![It sounds cool to me!]

Your observation is appreciated.

[He is going to continue trying to fight these monkey pokes off. At least he's not outright punching any more of the in the face for now.]

I wonder what's -

[ - "got them so upset" is cut off by the sight of her soaking-wet Electric type charging up for an attack. ] Get down!

[ And, because she knows all that charged electricity has to go somewhere, she tackles Gold to the dirt instead of ordering him to stop. Thunder Wave flies everywhere, much of it absorbed by Haruka's Ground-type body. Woe betide any monkeys in the wrong place at the wrong time, though.

Or, if Haruka's luck today is truly abysmal, reporters. ]

[The good news is that Hayato recognizes that this is GOING TO BE BAD IF HE GETS HIT. For all his fancy resistances, electricity still stung. He ducks down, grabbing Goro (even though Goro is just kind of confused and unaffected) and waits for it to clear.]

[Goro does clap though, that was pretty cool!]

...That's one way to stop a bunch of monkeys.

[His hair might be floofing up from all the static.]

[ Haruka, meanwhile, looks disheveled in a windswept-model kind of way. She picks herself up off of Gold, who crawls out from beneath Trainer with a cautious look around. Did he get the monkeys? He didn't - gosh, he didn't hurt anybody, did he? ] Jol.

Something must have upset them. [ This guy seems fine, so Haruka isn't bothering to ask him whether he's okay. She just goes right back to looking for the source of the problem.

...She might also want to make sure Gold didn't hit any unsuspecting guests, but she won't mention that either. ]

[Mitsuru is walking with her Pokémon, Skadi the Snorunt and Koromaru the Growlithe. They make a lovely group. However, the flash of a camera has the redhead turning her sharp eyes in the direction it's coming from and the Growlithe on edge.]

Who's there?

[It's not like he's going to run and hide, so turning he head will lead you to spotting some guy with a camera up to his eye aiming at one of her pokemon.]

Sorry! You just have such nice pokemon, I couldn't help it.

[Her expression softens a little, but her vigilance is still high.]

It's alright. Please ask before you take their pictures again. Skadi can be a handful sometimes.

I'll keep that in mind.

[He grins.]

Handfulls are fine. It means they're happy, yeah?

Thank you.

[She gives a small, impersonal smile in response. It's not that she's cold, she's just slow to warm up to people.]

I would like to think so. I take excellent care of Skadi and Koromaru.

It shows. A lot of people in this city take a lot of pride in pokemon here, don't they? I'm considering turning over to pokemon photography, I would have so much work! [Not really, but he has to admit the notion would keep him gainfully employed here.]
