Haruka remains where she was for a moment longer before exhaling and scooping the package up. The contents aren't damaged, it doesn't feel like. The paper's just a little worn. She clears her throat and offers the package to Michiru (or to Minuet, depending whose adorable hands reach it first). ] These are yours, incidentally.

Selia! [nah, it's still as blank as ever. But would you like to help her choose colors?

Apparently, Lulu doesn't have any misgivings about Gold's ability to help.]

Incidentally, huh? [that's a smile as she reaches for it. As soon as Mommy brings it gets close enough, however, eggbaby decides to lay claim to it with a happy burble.] Sit with me?

Jolt? [ Could he? Gold glances at Haruka, who seems busy settling herself next to Michiru, so he looks at the palette and nudges the green with his nose. You're green, and Natto's green, so....isn't green good? Natto likes those leaves and everything. ] Jolteon?

[ He even has a green nose now.

Haruka has gotten comfortable by this point and seems amused by eggbaby's excitement. There's all that fun paper you could tear off, Minuet. She smiles at baby. ] I doubt that's a good fit....

[ Not like what Natto is making for baby. But she'll keep that a secret for him. ]

[at least Michiru made dang sure to pick the kind of paint marketed towards parents with kids (or Pokemon) who'll eat anything.]

Rose! [you raise a good point, Gold! She'll do a green background, then! It'll be super nature-y and represent....nature or something.

Lulu raises a rose hand and dips that in the green paint before tentatively brushing that on. W-well, so far so good?]

I don't believe she's listening. [Michiru hasn't wasted any time snuggling up to you, though her eyes are still on Minuet as baby finds a nice spot to pull at the colorful paper.] Prii!

Eon! [ That looks really good! Do you need him to help with anything else or should he just sit and watch? If it's okay for him to sit and watch, that is. Gold knows he has a way of messing things up.

Haruka snuggles right back. ] We'll have to compensate for her disappointment.

[ Somehow. Maybe with a nice ride in Vivace's saddlebags while Mommy and Daddy have alone time.

Whatever's in this package is soft on one side but kind of pointy on the other, Minuet. Not enough to hurt, though. ~~Michiru probably owns stilettos already anyway~~. ]

[it takes quite a bit for Lulu to think badly of anyone, so really, Gold's safe. She continues brushing, adding interesting swirling patterns here and there.] Lia? [hey Gold, what color should she pick next?

Minuet manages to tear off a long strip of the paper and chirps in victory as she waves it around! Michiru gives baby a smile as she deftly replaces the package with a plush Rhyhorn.]

Somehow, I think she'll be just fine. [heh. Should she open this the rest of the way?]

Jolt... [ Gold is glad his imput's helpful! Hmm. What about a nice bright pink? A really reddish one. He can't decide if red or pink flowers are prettier so she could go for both! ] Jolteon!

[ His nose gets dangerously close to the easel, but he catches himself and backs off. He won't mess up this gift. He's really focused on that.

Just like Haruka's focused on that cute baby and her fascinating partner. ] She gets it from you. [ So resilient, and all.

But Michiru is probably best off finishing this unwrap job, yes. There's not much left to it, fortunately: the pair of cloth high-heeled boots can't really be mistaken for much else. These heels are also quiiite high.

Who spent a week on tiptoe for kisses this year....? ]

...Rose! [wow, she likes the way you think! Maybe she can do a few pink swirls now, and then add in red swirls later!

Michiru takes a moment, examing the shoes with a smile when she notices how high the heels are. Huh. These are higher than most of the boots she owns.

She's tracing the edge of the heel with a finger when she stops suddenly and then looks over at you with barely contained amusement. It's definitely danciing in her eyes, though.] Quite an inspired gift, I see.

[ Gold nods along with Lulu's idea, then sits down again to watch. Oh boy. Oh boy. His butt is wiggling with excitement. Drat not having a tail.

Haruka was prepared for commentary on this gift and thus unfurls her smoothest, suavest nonchalant air - with the same inability to mask her eyes. It's a practical gift, thanks ever so. ] Will they fit?

[ They should. She's ~~probably been pack gogoat for a shoe shopping trip before~~ fond of your feet. ]

[Lulu ducks her head in concentration, trying to capture the look of a painting her Trainer was examining a few days prior. It didn't look super hard, but it was colorful!

Michiru smiles, and shifts baby, plush, and baby's strip of wrapping paper over to you. Baby looks around at the movement, and then chirrups up at you, arms wiggling. Hi! She knows you!

And Michiru is leaning over to try on the boots. A moment later, she's getting up and taking a practice ~~sashay~~ stride.]

They do. [paying attention during their shoe expeditions, huh?

...geez, these are pretty tall.]

[ A baby. Just what Haruka always wanted for Salvation. (Hi, kid.) She smirks at Minuet and pats her head before watching that "stride".

Here's a chuckle, and she gets up (baby, plush, paper, and all - her arms have room) to walk over to Michiru and test their heights against each other. How far up do you come on her body? ] How about now?

[ Bodies very close. Baby could probably even reach out and touch Mommy if she wanted. ]

[let's say....4, 5 inch heels. Which really, should negate the 'practical' part of your claim, but still. Michiru smiles and leans in, still tilting her face up towards you a bit.]

Perfect. [aaand that's a kiss. No tip-toeing involved this time.]

[ She did well. Haruka smiles against that kiss, quite pleased with herself.

....But there's a bit of heat creeping onto her face as she realizes they've got the baby between them. Should they really? This much in front of the kid?

She tries to shift Minuet so that the child's at least being held to the side of her body. ]

[there's a questioning chirrup when baby gets moved! Michiru pulls back and glances down when she feels a tug on her shirt where baby had been holding on. And then she's looking at you, endlessly amused.

Lulu hasn't even looked over. The face licking is much too common, apparently.]

[ Gold likes the face licking because the humans always look so happy! (He found out the hard way that he's not allowed to try to lick Trainer's face.) Right now he's more interested in Lulu's painting, though. Look at all that paint!

Haruka just looks back at Michiru, smirking. What? ] One minute.

[ Let's set baby up on the ground nice and comfy. Here's your fun wrapping paper....here's your plush friend. And here are both of Haruka's hands, free to loop around Michiru's waist. ] That's much better.

[ They'll still have to be quick because unsupervised kid, but isn't this much more comfortable? ]

[Lulu takes a step back to assess the painting in its entirety, paint dripping a little onto the cloth tarp her Trainer had spread over the table. Hey, this kinda looks like vines!]

Rose... [but is it better for paintings to look like things or is it bettet for them not to make sense?]

You're quite a risk taker. [Michiru's leaning in for a quick kiss, however.]

Jolteon? [ Hmm. Your Trainer might be a better person to ask about paintings, but since you're the one painting it, don't you get to make it look however you want? Gold likes all the colors, personally....

Haruka smirks. Nobody in this room would ever let anything happen to baby. Unless you mean she's pushing it by setting your child down unsupervised, in which case....yes, that is a calculated risk she's willing to take. ] Not really.

[ She returns the kiss. Please, baby. Don't wander somewhere dangerous. ]

Selia... [she did! And her Trainer said both were 'valid forms of art' or something and then said a lot more words ~~until Trainer noticed her eyes had glazed over.~~

And Michiru is casually draping her arms across your shoulders.] Mmm. [it's nice, being able to kiss you without getting on tiptoe. And it's not like she leaves stuff out, dangerous or not, all over her studio. Baby can't get in that much trouble.]

[Michiru stiffens and turns to look. Baby sounds much too happy about poking at precarious bottles of glitter Lulu had been considering before.]

Jolt! [ Oh, no, someone left the baby unattended! Gold bobs his head to Lulu - excuse him - and trots over to where Minuet is looking at the glitter. Uh, he doesn't want to get too close, baby, but -

His paw slips. Haruka lunges. That baby is not becoming a glittery Salvation ornament on her watch! No matter how far she has to lean, or what ridiculous-yet-cool pose she ends up in at the end of it, she will lift that child out of harm's way!

And whatever happens to Gold, he deserves. ]

[..whoa!! Things sure are happening quickly!] Toge toge! [and that's a happy eggbaby, chirruping at you. Do that again!

And...that's probably Gold getting glitterbombed. Lulu looks super concerned and gingerly hops on down to the floor.]

[ Glitterbombed indeed. Gold sneezes, snorting glitter onto the tarp, and shakes his ears out to dislodge some of the sparkles. Haruka exhales, baby safely perched in both hands high above her head.

Still getting her pulse back under control, she passes the child off to its Mommy. ] No harm done.

[ Look, baby even looks happy and excited! Haruka grins. You're a trouper, kid. You have a lot of near misses, but you're a trouper. ]

[Michiru takes the baby back, fussing a little over her. Baby trills happily, completely unaware of the terrible danger she was in.

Heh.] Thank you.

[the area surrounding the point of impact shimmers in a soft haze of glitter and well. Let's hope Natto will like sparkles in his painting.]

[ ...He got glitter on Lulu's picture. It shouldn't be possible to look devastated while covered in sparkles and excitement the way Gold is right now, but he manages it. Lulu, he is so sorry! Do you want him to clean it up? Or do you want him to back off? You might be able to paint over it, too...

...Why does this always happen when he tries to help? ] Jol.

[ Haruka peers over Michiru's shoulder to play with baby, too. Cute kid. ] Are you teaching her anything?

[ Or is baby a permanent toddler. She's certainly become quite an efficient little waddler... ]

[Lulu had seemed more concerned for Gold after that sparkle attack, but Gold's reaction gets her to look back at her painting.

....oh! It's actually...really eye-catching! Look, Gold! It sparkles differently when you tilt your head! ~~At least she hasn't added macaroni to it yet.~~

Baby wiggles, chirruping up at Haruka. Do that fast thing again!]

I've tried, but she didn't seem very interested. [meaning baby was more liable to hug the training dummy than to go through the motions of a tackle. And meaning that Michiru didn't try especially hard.]

[ Does it? Gold tilts his head, and a small cascade of glitter falls onto the tarp. Whoa. Whooooaaa. Will it look different if he tilts his head the other way?

His ear is practically touching the ground now. This is fascinating. But, more importantly....he didn't mess up everything? ] Ee.

[ No fast thing while Mommy's got you, baby, but Haruka will give baby a hand to play with, moving her fingers. Dexterity exercise. Can you keep her fingers from slipping out of your grip? ] We can't all be fighters.

[ And that's okay. Minuet is being raised in love and peace, with an ideal childhood. Preserving that is important to Haruka, too. What a sweet kid.

Haruka makes a better dad than she will ever, ever admit. ]
